Is there a trail or feature that you just can't overcome?

I'm wondering if I'm alone, there is this basic spot in wildcat that has my number and I'm not sure how to overcome it. It's not technical, I just always get poison ivy when I fall. Am I alone in this how have you overcome something like this, it's going to be the first spot I ride when I get back.

Not alone. There's 1 massive log feature in Belmont (Philly) that I only remember doing once, either direction. It's a slight climb 1 direction, the descent direction has another log about 15-20ft prior. I've followed other riders, usually @KenS, and try to visualize their line and chicken out before fully committing. Also seen many fail terribly, so that is what sticks in my head.

As for a trail, The Monster climb in Wiss, prior to the recent sanitation due to it being unsustainable. I probably cleaned 1 for every 10 attempts. Haven't been there since the completion of the project.

Well there is one section at CR that I've cleaned 100's of times thru the years on my regular bikes. When I started riding an Ebike it gave me pause. If you are coming back to the ballfields from Gillbride it is the 30" root wall you need to hop up just after you go thru the little stream crossing about 100' from Gillbride.

In my mind, I had the fear that with a wet rear tire and the sudden burst of power from the motor, the wheel would spin so fast that I'd hit the roots. Last week for the first time (I was feeling really good) I just went for it.

I now have this to remind me that I was right all along.

Ewww, that's going to turn pretty colors!!

Post it on "post you boo-boos" thread

There was a spot at Nassau, on Springside, you go between 2 trees and there are a bunch of big roots right after, doesn’t look like much at all but for some reason 1/2 the time I hit it I go OTB. Looks someone recently filled the gaps between the roots with stones, so I guess I wasn’t the only one.

I think you need to describe the spot to us better.

But everyone has issues with something at some point in time. None(ok almost noone) can just ride everything the first time they see it. Takes practice, so ride more. And maybe get nicer friends, or at least ones smart enough to film the fails for the rest of us

I’m struggling with a section at my race tomorrow. I know it’s the faster line, and I know I can clear it. But I watched like four people eat shit in practice. Do I risk the entire run for a 1s gain or do I play it safe and leave disappointed in myself?
