It sucks. I still get buzzed too. I am really not a fan of our safe passing law. It has confusing language and whoever wrote it totally blew an opportunity to clarify that vehicles may pass by crossing a double yellow.
Seems drivers know exactly what to do when passing a stationary object but a crazy person on a bike triggers the get off the road and out of my way hold the horn and buzz by syndrome.
Or the mailman everyday. Crossing the double yellow is this unspoken thing amongst bike advocates and traffic planners in NJ. I am not a traffic planner (thank God) and find this stuff really tedious
Drivers will race to get around you so they can make a right turn right in front of you, rather than just slow down and wait to turn. Just crazy.
I can never figure out if they are just clueless or assholes. Sometimes when they give me the finger, I lean towards asshole.
