What WEIRD things have you found on your rides?

My family walked in a cabin in waywayanda around '96 maybe, east side of the lake. There was an elaborate drawing of a woman playing some guys trombone on the wall.

Sum Yung Guy apparently doing some camping where he not suppose to be.
Weird AND creepy. Looks like he getting ready to burn down the woods.

No pix but when I passed him he was hurling large rocks at wood. Obvi did not stop.
@pygmypony is this the suspected Edith saboteur?

In the brisbane section of Allaire, there is plenty of weird stuff, overgrown playgrounds and baseball fields, abandoned hospital buildings, its an abandoned pediatric psych facility.

but some other cool stuff:

Reed Road, south of the safari park.

But, whoever doesnt know the story of Emelio Carranza, got to look it up on Weird NJ. His memorial is in the middle of nowhere pinebarrens.

10mm sockets. I have found 3 on the side of the road over the years. Including a really nice Snap-on deep socket. My guess is guys leave them in the engine bay after wrenching, go for a test drive and they eventually rattle out and to the shoulder.

i've come across that camper - he's along the new gravel road that the water company put in along the tracks. seems harmless, and i am pretty sure he is not the saboteur

I found an entire set of 60ish craftsman sockets on the side of the road. Pockets were heavy that day riding home.

Not found but saw at Chimney Rock. I always start at the ballfields lot. Before starting my ride, I noticed an older Asian couple - one with two hiking poles, the other with a backpack. Both were in the infield of one of the ball fields - full sun - and just walked 20 yds in a straight line, turned around, walked back, repeat, etc, etc. What in the hail?

PS forgot - both wearing masks, too 🙄

Neat, I love this kind of stuff

United States President Coolidge offered the battleship Florida to return the body. President Calles, the President of Mexico, declined the offer and the body was returned to Mexico via train transport amid full military honors. The military guard were dispatched from Governors Island.[43] When transferred to the train at Penn Station, the coffin was led by six black horses in a caisson with 10,000 troops marching to a muffled drum beat down Broadway.

I mean this guys was a BIG deal at the time

"fell to his death"....thats an interesting way of saying "plane crash"
