Tensioning the belt on my SS using the slot machine mechanism on my Tranny29 is less than optimal. Think having a replacement is a good idea since I’m torquing to 35 Nm each ride after checking belt slack

went on very easy, weight is 1.56 lbs. Half mile ride hitting all gears up and down a few times and all seems good.
I'll give it a longer ride tomorrow. seems fine though. now a question, do all those gears have a right side up or doesn't it matter?

not sure i understand the question(gears having a right side up), the cassette only goes on one way

all the gears come off individually and could possibly be flipped upside down, no?
I'm asking because I see some people take it apart and clean it up, can you reassemble the gears a wrong way?
 
If they fit both ways, and aren't marked, they are probably ok.

is the chain directional? 😉

all the sram eagle cassettes i have handled are one piece so no way to screw them up

I would keep the numbers of teeth (if printed on each sprocket) facing towards the chain.

If you take the cassette apart for cleaning, you'll want to be sure to pay attention to which sprockets have (plastic) spacers between them. Some may - such as those in the middle of the cassette, whereas the 2 smallest sprockets may not have spacers. But maybe this is more related to Shimano road cassettes. I haven't used Shimano MTB cassettes since the 90's.
 
Shimano cassettes are keyed (both HG and Micro Drive) , you shouldn't be able to insert the gear on the cassette the wrong way. Also, Shimano chain is directional with the stamping on the links facing the right (as opposed to the left) side.

after a twelve mile ride today it's performing perfectly. Did the OOS Lungbuster up Laurel trail and it shifts fine.
Nice and quiet too

Pro tip - I use a very thin Do-rag or bandana for sweat control and for tightening up the fitment of a helmet. Makes everything feel more secure to my head. Maybe worth trying...
