Biggest loser

Feeling good since lowering my calories back down a bit. I haven't been really hungry at 2200 calories and my energy levels have been fairly good. Was able to cut most of the chunk back down that I gained during my failed 3 week Maintenance attempt. Weighted in at 151.2 this am and was fairly happy with the mirror this morning as well.

Wondering how long it takes to stabilize at a weight after loosing?
Where maintenance is just the new way of eating, and ya stay there -
not hungry. kinda dialed in - a little bit of cheat, a little bit extra on the workout.

i'm always bouncing around, so no idea. had a good 2+ year run at a nice weight,
but it always wanted to creep-up, and then covid....

The balancing act is hard to figure out for sure getting that just right amount of exercise and intake

I've mentioned it in my weekly updates. Maintenance has been harder than losing.

With the plan I've been following, eating nutritionally dense foods, with caloric deficit in vs out to lose. I lost quite a bit in the early weeks and was just following the meal plan because exercise was limited do to my thumb surgery.

Once weight goal is reached, complex carbs foods, are reintroduced and see how it goes. I've been eating and drinking things and seeing weight creep up. Not surprised that when beer is consumed, it's not good. But I've also been very consistent with exercise.

Here's the last 4 weeks. Notice I've been weighing myself more than once a week.

E2M program Round 5, Wk 3, Day 5

Diet
Checking in a day early as we're heading to a Cape May area campground this afternoon for the weekend. Have cheated a little more daily than I should and the scale reflects it. Stuck to plan foods, but excess portions of some health fats (cashews and peanut butter) and chocolate. Had dinner out on Wed after a funeral home visitation. Will be eating out in Cape May, but also bringing food.

Exercise.
Circuits M/W/F, early am 1hr+ rides outside on T/Th. Taking bike for the weekend and will ride around the CM area while my wife does the Beach to Brewery 10k Sat morning. Will attempt to ride early Sunday before departure.

Weight
1/22/22 Starting weight = 235.4
9/16/22 (current weight =178.2
Diff: weekly up .8, total lost = 57.2
I know I've mentioned it previously, but this maintaining shit is hard. Especially when there is things in the house that weren't around for much of the past few months. Need to buckle down.

Wife is maintain much better than I.
E2M program Round 5, Wk 4, Day 5

Diet
Got back on track this week after the Cape May weekend. The last few weeks have been less than good. Beer, chocolate, cakes, and cookies have been enjoyed. Enjoyed the refreshments at Cape May Brewing Saturday around noon. More at Cold Spring Brewery while making our way into town. The fish tacos at The Rusty Nail in Cape May last Saturday afternoon were awesome. Then Sunday morning after packing up the camper trailer and departing for home, we stopped at the Flight Deck Diner for breakfast. Packing my food for Jorbafest this weekend, keeping it simple and covering all the bases of protein, veg, fruits, some complex carbs and healthy fats. Still no dairy, sugar, pasta or processed foods.

Exercise
Did well with exercise all week. Circuits M/W, early rides T/Th, lunch walks each day. Nothing this morning as I took the day off to start heading north and ride NNJ locations culminating with Jorbafest at Ringwood. Will be introducing running again to train for a 5k at the end of October (see below)

Weight
1/22/22 Starting weight = 235.4
9/23/22 (current weight =173
Diff: weekly down 5.2, total lost = 62.4
Weighed in last Friday before the weekend because I knew it wouldn't be good. Oddly enough, even after eating and drinking off plan, maintained when I weighed in on Monday morning. No beer since Sunday.

My wife is still successfully maintaining with the food plan and exercise. Her summer of swimming has worked well, she's backing off and adding more running. She ran the Beach to Brewery 10k last weekend and was happy with her time. Next up is the Hallowed 1/2 marathon in Cape May on Oct 29th. I registered for the Fright Night 5k the night before.

How's everyone making out lately? I can't beleive I'm saying this but I went for a run yesterday haha I figure if I'm doing 2 15k tough mudders this year I better at least run before hand this time. I channeled my inner Forest gump and just started running and didn't stop till I got back to my truck. The plan was to run walk run walk etc but I made it 2 miles in under 20 minutes without trying to hit any time or to even make it that far so I was pretty happy with the results. I still had more in the tank but ran out of daylight and had already lifted weights that morning and went for a ride at stephens in the afternoon. Goal is to be Able to run 6 miles straight prior to the 15k mudder in May.

Dealing with things like this 3 days a week at the office is a PITA but I have will power. There were two other flavors in the fridge too but I didn’t have any.

I’ve been trying to supplement less time to ride with the rower or zwift mid week before work but a few lbs have been creeping back in.

I’m not too worried about it just when the weekend weather looks shitty like this weekend coming up that means I need to figure out some way to maintain the harder efforts. Guess it might be a zwift
/row weekend. ☹️

Running translates to great endurance on the bike too!
Sign up for a couple of 5k/10k road races along the way. Great test of where you are at.

I trained for a marathon in 16 weeks. I think you'd be able to hit a mudder without an issue given the timeframe!

Hi all!

Still trying to drop about 10 more lbs before the end of the year. Been quite focused the last few weeks. This year has been relatively consistent floating around 190 lbs all summer which isn't awful for me. I had 1 major slip from focusing on my intake which you can see quite well in the graph (coincidence that it's when I wasn't posting here?). Exercise is easy and consistent all year. Winning in the grocery store is the only way weight loss happens for me.

Been checking in to see how folks are doing.

Since the end of August/school starting, down 4 lbs. I think part of it is my schedule this year and not having lunch/free time until later (now 12:05 instead of 10:45).

Still doing something "active" each day but haven't changed too much. Still CrossFit/lifting heavy sh*t/riding/running.

I have some annual bloodwork/tests next week to see what is going on. I'm at the age where things are "changing" and want to get levels before making too many changes. TMI...but it's a reality for women.

Keep the motivation going!

I'm back at 170. I dropped a bit lower for the race last weekend, but then got sick and nursed myself back to health with ice cream and beer. I was actually out of work 2 days last week just sleeping and trying to get the muscle soreness from the race to go away. Next up is Iron Cross 10/16 so I'm back on the plan and feeling better. I'm actually doing a cx race tonight and probably doing the commute to work tomorrow to help get myself back into a good rhythm.

Well, I told myself rather than start New Years Day this year and go to April I will start with Sober October.

Long story short - I went from 230 - 193 pre-Covid. Then Covid hit and my worklife went to 80 hour + work weeks. Back to 220.

Fast Forward - in June of this year we sold our house, bought a house. Moved while Also moving my parents and cleaning their house out - while working 60+ hour weeks. Add two deaths in the family and two additional family members moving. Throw in a promotion at work and a crazy work load in the rising interest rate environment and I am sitting at 229.5 again post last weeks trip to Nashville with a huge case of brain pain.

Here is my plan:
- Number one, try to get my life back and make an hour to two hours for myself each day
- Stop working on weekends
- No booze until 4/1/23
- 1-2 days recovery per week
- At least one hour of excercise five days a week
- Shooting for 1.5lbs a week weight loss

We spent 48 hours in the car over the last week as well as several days in Nashville so I am bloated AF (I hope) so my fingers are crossed I lose 3-5lbs week one just in water weight/diet.

It’s nice to be back!

Diet
Did much better this week with the food. Nothing significant to speak of. Packed my food for Fri - Sun last weekend in NNJ for pre and during Jorbafest. Got in line for an awesome burrito from the Broritos at the fest. Cheat meal this afternoon at Tortilla Press Cantina.

Exercise
Still doing the circuits with spin bike warm-up M/W/F this week, dawn patrol rides T/Th. 35min lunch walks each day at work. Last weekend was chock full of mtb riding. Friday Jungle Habitat, Saturday Ringwood/Sterling and Sunday 'fest Advanced Ride of Ringwood. Weather for this weekend looks crappy, so trainer ride this morning and tomorrow. Monday, the C25K training starts.

Weight
1/2/22 Starting weight = 235.4

Weighed in a few days this. Monday after the 'fest checked in at 175.2 and was good with that. Stayed even the other days of the week at 174.8. I'll take it.

Had my annual dr. checkup visit Wed evening and can't believe I thought this, but was looking forward to it. Was there last Oct before my bike injury on Halloween Day, so weight wasn't as high as on Jan 2 after the holidays and being inactive after the injury.

Important numbers (BP, BMI and weight) moved in the right direction. BMI over 25 is still considered overweight. Got my bloodwork results this morning and all look good compared to last years numbers, except my LDL has improved since last year, but still above the normal high.

Wife weigh-in this morning at was down a 1 lbs, so 41.2lbs lost. So we're both maintaining.

BP numbers are amazing!
BMI doesn't really work if you have legs - like cyclist legs.
you shrunk .25 inches. Bottom of your feet are skinnier 😉
💪💪💪

Down another 0.6 lbs this week.

When the wife and I get on the same page with weight loss it's magic, becomes so easy to meal plan and cook for each other. Challenging weekend coming up, family party today after some local TM and then Giants game with a small tailgate.
