Western Monmouth County Trail Build

As a reminder we will be at Perrineville tomorrow (Saturday 11/19) from 9am-12pm, please come out if you can.

95 Pine Hill Rd Millstone

The tools keep you warm, the temps won't be an issue.

Thanks!

Yup. Saw you there today while I was exploring. This place looks awesome. Thanks Iggy and crew!

No doubt! From where i am at, i can throw this is in and get some good miles road and woods. Ironically, about 15ish years ago (pre kids) i would extend my commutes into Milstone a lot for its quiet roads. Odd as it seems the lot right off Millstone Rd would catch little fires here and there that I was forced to put out on my way home. Wish i knew then there was rideable woods just yonder

There are few cavities on Perrinville side that can be worked in a similar fashion as this is being done

This video of new Mine Hill Trail has been going around the internets and has had good reviews of folks riding trail.

If you can, please come out and help with the trail build, this area will be part of a greater network of trails and prove to be a flowee mtb destination.
Thanks!

@pooriggy, Road the re-route over on Lakeside Loop/Perrineville, fun stuff!
Never really gave this area much attention but it has as much potential as Pine Hill looking around and exploring.
Went over to Pine Hill from there and noticed someone must have had a wide track Mule/ATV and was chewing up the bench cut on the last uphill section heading up top😡

I'm glad you liked Lakeside Loop, that trail and Rocky Brook will make a nice addition to Mine Hill.

What section of Mine Hill got chewed up? The top of switchbacks from field edge we put in a few months ago?

No, last climb up to very top, It's not to bad just something to be looking for with all the local moto-kids riding up top, as I said looked like a wide track and just didn't fit so it was chewing trail width and bench edge.
Is there any county access for rangers up there yet?

OK, I think I know the area you're talking about. The rangers were in there with their quad about a month ago and 4wd drive wasn't working.

Honestly I don't get too worked up about motos on the trail at Mine Hill. I haven't seen any damage that is that bad.

Also the areas/neighborhoods that have motos around are also usually more accepting of mtb trails, and the culture of riding. This allows us to create a future mtb destination area, without pushback from area residents and local trail folk.

Thanks for looking out John, you've been a big help on the trails this year.

Cheers

I was there on Monday and noticed that also, on the climb to the very top, the track on the left (low) side. The dirt bike riders are there a lot, in general, but this didn't look like a dirt bike tread.
