Car-spotting thread

Out and about today both riding and driving.

I’ve passed the well known Porsche repair place in long valley so many times on my bike but this was the first time I stopped to take a pic. Got rewarded with this beast of a track car getting driven out of the trailer. It was rumbling so loud made my insides shake. I got a video too but cut it off just before the guy saw us and he revved it ultra loud. Can’t post that here tho so here’s a pic and some of the other stuff on the lot.

The rest of the cars were on my drive to and from car dealership. The guy in the older Viper was tailing some BMW M series SUV and changing lanes at 80+ mph all over the place In between traffic. Doesn’t deserve that car.

Camaro has these silly extra wide USB ports on the exhaust. Not a fan of this generation body style.

Road runner was super clean guy was like maybe 80 out for a Sunday cruise.

Golf R was clean and already had a sold sticker on it. Wasn’t manual trans tho.

M5 brand new. Loud exhaust seemed to be already modified even with temp tag.

My oldest son is considering a 2019 Lincoln MXZ Reserve II. Twin turbo V6 and asked me to come along for the 2nd round of negotiating. nice car but not my thing and I don’t like the design much either. I think he’s gonna pass even if I did get them down from 31550 to 27900 it’s still overpriced. Was good to show him the ropes of the game though and I know I can get them to come down below 27K but I don’t think he’s at the stage of “that’s 100% my next car”.

All worked out. No issues. Dealer was great. I think I was offered about $18,000 in extras (warranty, pre-paid service, tire and wheel, windshield, lost key, blah, blah). I said no once, he reduced some prices and I said no again. That was it. Salesman was smart enough to not fill it until I was there and drove him to Sunoco on his dime. Unfortunately, doesn't make it to the detailer for PPF until 6/16. It's covered in pollen and ash. I love that they didn't touch it.

Is this a new Porsche marketing campaign? Free case of beer of your choice with every purchase?

During and after my ride today.

This road runner/ satellite? Sounded so chunky pulling up to the light I could hear it before I could see it.

Love the color combo of the rag top on this Z hard to see color of the car since taken from
Inside my car. It is like a deep wine/burgundy. Looked real clean.

They were preparing for the 75th Porsche anniversary party. Most dealers had an event of some sort on Saturday to commemorate it.*

* required and partially funded by the mothership
thats interesting considering there are Porsche branded cars dating back to 1939....they conveniently forget how to do math in Germany?

Came for UtahJoe to make a comment about someone missed putting it in the dumpster, left disappointed.

@Carson Dave is this the Adams product you were referencing a few pages back when talking about doing the tlx? https://adamspolishes.com/collections/ceramics-graphene-graphene-ceramic-spray-coating™/products/graphene-ceramic-spray-coating™ . Adams has a fathers day 25% off sale and I want to grab a few things. Tia.

I used the Advanced version. Supposed to be a little longer lasting with slightly better hydrophobic properties for only a few bucks more.

Just remember, the prep is the important part; decon the car completely to get the best resullts and full 12-18 months. The application of the graphene spray is easy peasy.

The TLX was in the rain tonight for the first time. It was covered in pollen and ash from the past few weeks, though. Water still bead very well and was running off the car during the rain. I couldn't tell it from full ceramic coating (like UK 3.0). But we'll see how it lasts.
