Heart rate monitor?

My Garmin dual HRM has been pretty good. It’s lasted a while. I don’t use it indoors. And the key to not stripping the screws is to use an actual torx t5 bit. (Some are Phillips head and you need to use the recommended size for them too ).
I do. First time replaced battery the plastic came out with the screw.

Are you talking about the threads coming out, or big chunks?

Cause you can lube up a screw with wax, then squirt some super glue in the hole (1/2-2/3 give it room to expand), and put the screw in. Give it 24 hours to cure, then tighten it.

Can fix coarse threads in plastic like that without much issue. If you're patient/have number bits, you can even just fill it with the glue, then drill a new pilot.

Following since I'm on my 3rd HRM sensor. Went through two Wahoo sensors that stopped working. First one broke at the snaps. The second one simply stopped pairing with my Bolt or phone. New battery didn't help it. Currently running a Garmin that works... sometimes... I recently bought a new Wahoo Roam (to replace my smashed Bolt) and it seems the only way I can get the Roam to connect to it is I have to "wake" up the Garmin sensor with the Strava phone app - then the Roam will see the HRM and get data from it. I haven't even started to get the Roam paired with all of the other sensors I have.

After one ride, I'm not very happy with the Roam. For some reason, I didn't realize how effing huge it is and it doesn't really fit on my bikes very well.

As much as I like having data, it feels like manufacturers sure do like making it a PITA to use. I procrastinated over two weeks after buying the Roam before setting it up and now I remember why...

I bought the Polar one, which was working fine until I had to replace the battery. Did not work after swapping out the battery, but looking online it seems possible to slightly bend the electrical contacts when inserting the new battery, so I carefully tweaked those and got it working again. Now after only a few rides it's showing a low battery alert.

I had the same issue with my polar. It killed batteries in weeks.

Is this the correct way to wear an optical?
