Watches

DM sent. Attached are the watches I was talking about and my wife reminded me that it was $35K for the pair. Looks like Datejust.
There was a time when those were cheap. The two tone was very out of fashion. On the ones you're looking at the gold bezels and diamond indices are an upcharge.

My daily datejust; slate dial, basic stick indices and ss bezel.
And my more dressy; anniversary dial with diamond indices and white gold bezel.

Very nice. What do you prefer more, the jubilee or oyster bracelets? I see you have both.

The batteries are dead in all of them except the Rado!!!
The citizens eat batteries, part of what makes them so inexpensive - I need to polish some of the crystals, and some of the bands are beat up.
The bands in rough shape have donor links, since there is no other adjustment.
The movements can be swapped too - so i can drop the white face in the gold band
Just some sort of weird relationship i have going on with the style....

The pulsar was the first watch i purchased when i got out of college.
the two on the bottom right are the women's version of the elegance. both are broken.
I keep waiting for more to show up on ebay.
Wheres the Patek

I didn't even think of the ones in the family box. Got to grab a pic. Lots of art deco. Bulova.

I prefer the jubilee for a daily. The polished center links on the oyster get scuffed up in no time so I don’t wear it as much. Comfort wise no preference.

I hear ya. I prefer the feel of the jubilee but I like the looks of the oyster. This is why I can never be happy 😎

I recently went to a black tie wedding and was looking at what tux to get and saw this watch in one of the ads. Really liked it, but then checked the price. Almost $4K, that buys a lot of nice bike parts. 😃

So it's like a Cannondale Lefty.
I see it more as a Ferrari, and I treat it like most guys treat their Ferrari's. Its pretty, but none of those guys want to pay for the $4000 oil change, $10,000 timing belt change, or $12,000 valve adjustment, so they put 200 miles on them a year.

Want a reliable, utilitarian automatic? Get a non-chronograph Rolex or Omega.

Tried on a datejust today - jubilee, blue, Roman numerals, all stainless/smooth bezel.

You know you have it on - I got some arm pump from it.
Where did you go, Roman's in Bridgewater? Is it available for sale or wait list only? I like the blue dial.

Id still rock one of these over anything I've seen posted here. You would too, stop lying to yourself

I thought everyone in the chain wax thread was personally trolling me, but this thread is next level. Though I imagine if this was a forum for NJ people that like fancy watches, and someone said how much they spent on a bicycle, people over there would feel the same way.

Romans, not for sale. Part of their exhibition collection.

They are tight lipped about what they have in inventory.

I like the blue with the index, it is darker than the blue with the Roman numerals
