any baseball fans?

Not sure I've gotten to the Marlins new stadium.

It's a pretty wild place. We sat in the night club section behind the left field wall...super unique way to watch a game.

Exactly, graves, leech, richter, how we remember this and the newer generations of players are just meh?

Ovechkin just broke the all time NHL goals record lol. This is the golden age of NHL hockey...the players are incredible.

When I was a kid, my Aunt worked for At&t and then Nynex....they had seasons tickets to the mets games...So I used to go to Shea quite a bit.
Man this brings me back.

I was so happy with owning multiples of $2 Kevin Maas rookie card and the Frank Thomas middle finger card.

I have a box of the good cards. Lots of Griffey & Canseco & McGuire etc. Then shit like Mike Greenwell and Cory Snyder. Those last 2 are probably worth less than the hard plastic sleeve they’re in.

Kindly thrash your Griffey and Shaq (if you got em) rookie cards. If enough people do that, then maybe I can retire on the 50 or so cards that I'm holding onto.

A few early 80s cards like Rickey Henderson and Cal Ripken rookies are worth good money but they have to be a solid 10 mint. 99.9% aren't worth more than what you paid in 1982 wrapped with a stick of hard gum. I have two Koufax rookie cards I'm planning to sell this year along with most of my comics worth something. This one is the lower grade, the other is in a safe and graded 7.2. I have a friend in the pop culture market if anyone has questions.

Just watched the Rays beat the Braves and I have a few questions about the details of the game that seem to have changed in the past, well I guess 30 years or so.

Scenario 1: Man on 1st and 3rd, no outs. Batter hits into a double play and the run scores. The announcer says that the batter does not get an RBI in that scenario. Is this true, and if so when did this change and what's the logic of it?

Scenario 2: Starting pitcher hits a batter then walks the next batter. The pitcher gets pulled for a reliever. Both of these guys eventually score. Starting pitcher is charged with 2 runs but 0 earned runs. What on earth is that?

Question: Do they keep stats on how players or teams hit when the score is +/- 2 runs? It seems like once it's 3-0 some player suddenly turn into Babe Ruth, but when it's 1-0 they suck out loud. Curious if they keep stats on what I would consider clutch situations.

1. Always like that.
2. Depends. The hit batter is unearned. If something else happened, the walk could be unearned.
3. Pitchers pitch to contact with a lead.

1 - ok I guess I just didn't know this one from yesteryear.

2 - I just read the play-by-play and forgot that HBP stole second then made it to 3rd on a throwing error. So he scored on a force out but only because of the catcher's throwing error. Still somewhat odd to me due to the fact that he would have scored regardless of the error but I guess it's a real-time call and they won't go back to "re-score" the play. The 2nd run was unearned because of a fielding error I totally forgot about, which makes sense. In the end the 2nd error would have been responsible for both runs had he not scored in the catcher's error.

3 - ok this is fair but not for the losing team. So let's say you are playing the Yankees and losing 5-0. You're not pitching to contact as the losing team. But suddenly the Yankees are scoring 5 more runs because there's no pressure. I am wondering about batting averages and RISP when the game is on the line, both ways. Even a pitcher that is leading isn't pitching to contact with just a 2 run lead.
