Revel no more. 😟

Ugh, this is kind of a surprise to me. They seemed to make nice bikes and I know a lot of people that ride them. Relatively popular bike where I am.

That is a bummer. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a revel in person.

I had a Ranger for a few weeks. Sold it to a local guy who promptly went out and bought a 2nd Ranger in black, he still has both. Not kidding.

It was a fun bike but the geo was a bit of a weird one for a bike you'd struggle to get under 27 lbs. CBF was great for pedal bob but putting 30 bearings in a frame is a great way to be 2lbs over every other XC bike. Even the Spur was a lb lighter and that bike can descend much better.

It is interesting...they released 3 new bikes last week. I wonder if they got smacked with a tariff bill and coupled with low pre-orders was the nail in the coffin.

Also the founder left the company a year ago which was strange. Wonder if he saw the writing on the wall.

I was surprised by release of an e-bike in their quiver being such a small company and only week later this.
Interwebs say another Colorado company is close to folding 🤔

I guess we're moving back to the state of affairs where independent business will have no reason to try and make it in the market. Every single small brand will collapse in this economic climate. Unless you're a dog walker or you suck dick for a living. Those 2 professions are probably safe.

So im sure @jdog can better explain it than I can....But I would guess a bike company in the us order all the frames it needs for the year....fills as many containers as possible, one big shipment over here.....probably a HUGE bill that smaller companies probably have to leverage quite a bit to pay for.....then..bam, 145% increase. Now they paid to have the frames made, but can't pay for the 145% tariff....death nail.

I think the article also said that Revel was already $9M in debt.
