Loam Wolfs 2025 emtb shootout, this is the overall and long. They also do an individual bike by bike. Pretty fair and balanced testing.

I noticed the cheapest bike in the test was over $7k. It’s kinda a like a super car shootout. Lambos and Porsches are great but I am not going to get one. I understand the alloy levos and rails were not out at the time of the test but I have no interest in bikes at this price point.

Trickle down does exist. This is a great way compare emerging tech and find ways to achieve it at a lesser budget later.

I have the unique opportunity to test many ebikes well over 10K. With those experiences I have been able to better confirm the diminishing point of investment.

It's not about the fancy gadgets applied it's about how they ride, their characteristics, suspension and geo. That's all trickled down to budget friendly.

It was also interesting that the reviewers didn’t make a fuss about the ancient Bosch displays on the Bosch bikes. I know the new displays are supposed to be out in July but is it going to increase the price?

Tcu, doesn’t really affect how the bike rides. I downgraded my Gen3 Levo to the basic Tcu so I could continue using the Blevo app.

And fyi, autocorrect keeps changing Tcu to trump.

I have a Kenevo and one of my riding buddies has a Yamaha Moro. He gets 5 lights on battery charge and I get a numeric percentage. It doesn’t matter much with a full battery but when he is down to the last light, does he have 20% or 5%? This does affect our ride time. Same goes for the Bosch old display….. it’s more of an issue the new small 600wh battery bikes with the increased motor power. Is that last light 20% or 5%?

The Shimano display also only does the 5-bar thing. I think I can get the actual percentage if I open the app on my phone, but I never have. The next time I do a ride where I plan to push the range limit, I'll have to remember to open the app.

If you cycle through the various things on the Shimano display it has a miles remaining...it updates accordingly for Eco/trail/boost I made the mistake once of going on an @mattybfat ride with my Orbea with 3 of 5 bars at the start. I made it back to the car 1/2 mile after the display told me 1 mile remaining (on eco). Was there a reserve like a car gas light? who knows lol.

Specialized throttles back the power output at 15% and then even more at 10%. Really annoying when you know there's only a few miles left on the ride and you know you have plenty of battery left but the assist drops.

I honestly forgot the display has that button to scroll through the different modes.
