Winter road shoes (3 bolt)

Absolutely not…

Hey, I just bought a pair of those Lakes on eBay for $90. If it ever gets cold enough to need a warmer shoe I'll let you know how they are.
Looking forward to the review. I don’t need Alaska temps to break out the winter shoes so I’ll probably lose a toe to frostbite by the time you try them.

I grabbed a pair of gore overshoes, if I like them enough I will stick with them (and some heated socks from Costco) and invest in some new road shoes.

I usually only need those Gore overshoes but I'm sorta tired of screwing around with booties. During longer rides I dick around with the Boa tension a lot and that's hard to do with booties.

Does any of this change if I wear high heels on flat pedals?

If you measure to the ball of your foot at the pedal spindle, it'll be about 4mm higher saddle height. This assumes you're wearing Stilettos, because what guy doesn't have a pair of Stilettos?

"The sole of a stiletto heel is the entire base, not just the tip. The heel itself is extremely thin, typically less than 1 cm (or slightly less than half an inch) in diameter at the ground. This is what gives the stiletto its signature slender and sharp look. The "sole" (or "tip") that contacts the ground is a small cap on the end of the heel, often around 6.5mm to 9mm in both width and length"
