yeah... i'm trying to think up contingency plans just in case i'm screwed getting back from NJ: fly another day? rent a car? force my parents (or anyone) to take an impromptu road trip to bring me home?

silly me... i thought this shutdown would be over by the time this trip rolled around.

Right. My wife is worried for her 85y/o aunt who is heading to FL on the 11th.

Ouch! I really think the economy is worse than anyone is saying car repossessions to reach 1o.5 million by the end of 2025 highest since covid, so far this year 212,000 homes in some form of foreclosure and housing starts down 8.5% so far in 2025. All this data shows the slowdown in the economy this year. On a final note, Elon will become the World's first Trillionaire. (if I spelled it right)

This is actually really great news. Elon can buy all those houses and rent them out for a reasonable price.

For the morning riders out there, or even the first in a park riders, have you noticed that the spider webs have been more aggro this year? And later in the season? It is just a part of morning riding in the summer and warmer months and worse when the humidity is high. But the past few weeks, while we still have warm days, the nights have been cool, which typically ends the web assault. But all this week and I still riding through webs, not August nightmare level webs, but enough to be noticeable.

Yes, and I'm noticing it in locations not in the woods as well. Like morning runs on the sidewalk and suddenly engulfed in webs.
