Could this help with trail peanut butter or reduce maintenance on dirt pump track?

I could see this being good at a dirt pump track or the High Bridge jump lines but seems impractical for normal singletrack. I too used old carpet scraps on bmx dirt jumps back in the day.
 
That stuff has been around for a little while, people who have ridden it say it's good like it doesn't squirm around
under your wheels. It could really help if you have bad soil, heavy traffic , freeze thaw etc. would be awsome
on a dirt pump track.

Maybe, could work in unique cases.

For this trail armor stuff, seems like a good fit for bike park / pump track but has in public parks I can see it eventually being displaced
