Tell me where you rode today...

Yup it is. Made a wrong turn after the stream crossing but it’s such a cool area took a pic.
It is! I like that area too and the trail along the stream is a good one.

So did you do the rock roll near where you took the picture? I rode by there yesterday and was thinking of trying it but don't know anyone else who has. It's quite steep and doesn't seem like a smooth transition to flat. But, I see tire tracks there so someone must be rolling it!

Not me. I’m an occasional visitor at CR. Love it each time I go tho….. may should put it back In the regular rotation.

You totally should! Chimney is my favorite park. It has such a huge variety now, especially with the addition of Cromwell and the work that has been put into it. If you link up the different trails, you can easily string together a 10+ mile ride without doubling back at all. Or, if you want to put in a short loop, there are plenty of those too.

It looks worse than it is. 2-3 different lines.

The "scariest" line has the best exit. The "easiest" line has a slightly awkward exit (but not terrible at all).

Most folks biggest worry is the bottom bracket making contact dropping in on the steepest line. I'm long and lanky and my bike is similarly long and I've never bottomed out. (YET?)

I think I know what you mean. There’s a line on one side that looks smoother but it spits you out at the bottom toward a tree, right?

So I take it you have rolled it? No mishaps? I don’t want to hurt myself so won’t attempt it if it’s too risky.

Yeah, the more left you enter, the more you exit towards a tree (tho perfectly manageable to steer and avoid).

The more right you enter, the more left you exit, avoiding the tree.

No mishaps (so far!).

Found the first tick of the season on me. I thought with all the cold 🥶 weather they would have been delayed.

If it's above freezing, ticks are active. Glad you found it.

Friendly reminder from your neighborhood veterinarian to make sure your pets get monthly flea and tick prevention year-round. I make a lot more money for treating Lyme than I do preventing it but damned if I'm gonna let my patients go out there unprotected.

My dog takes a pill every 3 months. They work, found dead ticks on her when we got home.

Easily my favorite as well. Outside of my local on Staten Island, I ride CR the most. That said, I have NO idea where this rock roll is lol. Now I have to find it!

That's Bravecto. It's.... fine. It's great against fleas for the full 12 weeks but its tick protection tapers off pretty rapidly after the first month. Glad it's working for you but it makes me nervous in this part of the country. It's probably perfectly fine for my mom's dogs back home in KS but we're in tick heaven.

My general theory is that I'm giving something for heartworm prevention every month anyway - I'll just give the Simparica Trio or Negxgard Plus that also effectively takes care of ticks for the full month. Plus, the first of the month is easy to remember - I would definitely forget which month I'm due for a 12-week product.

But different strokes for different folks. If it's working, do whatever your veterinarian says - he/she knows you and your pets better than a stranger on the internet.
