Waway Wrap Up

I was too busy trying to catch a glimpse of Vreeland today. At least I got to see him on the start line and get my first 30-39 race out of my system. What a solid group and a really good group to chase with. It was fun starting in a later wave and going through the 30-39's, 19-29's and some of the SS'ers. Legs felt pretty decent today on laps 1 and 2 but 3 not so much. Had a great time and as always the BBear crew put on an awesome race. I wanna see this course next year.

Race was awesome! I had an amazing 2 hour battle with a friend of mine in my class. We passed each other back and forth more then 10 times during the race. We had a drag race right to the end and unfortunetly he blew his front tire about 500' from the finish line. So I wound up beating him by about 20 sec. I got 2nd in cat 2 (30-34) and he got 3rd. My 4th sport race, and 1st podium.

Welcome to the club Ryan, much fun will be had, everyone is pretty close fitness-wise and the racing is always interesting!! Of course this also means I'll have ANOTHER Bulldog guy to deal with:drooling:

I got a medal and $60 for third place in Cat1 SS. 😀
 
I lost alot of time because I fell so many times. Luckily I'm not injured.
Great race course and it was so good to hang out with muddy guys & gals!

Damn straight. I think we actually have about 7 in 30-39 now. Watchout for those colors creeping up on you... 😀 Good effort today you were rockin it! I was only 8 places behind you 🙄

Nice ride Jimmy. Trust that working with Roger is having some benefit (as well as not having a mechanical every race this year).
 
Great time and great to see all the people from the forums and old friends. Very positive all around from fellow racers and spectators. Anyone thinking about racing try the beginner classes. I'm old, out of shape, and had to try it at least once. This was a New Years resolutions that took a while to follow through on. Thank you to everyone involved with getting my a$$ on the seat and in the races.

Moutain Lion

Ekrem, Mountain Lion, he is 10 this year barely making to the group in his age. Last year he chased the first kid, he finally put a 6 minute to the second person. What a boost for him. He finally made to the first place in Beginner 10-14.

Before the race he goes I will follow the leader in the first half and then do my attack. But then after the race he goes Dad I wanted to go so fast I could not hang out after the leader. What a racer!

The other kid I coach in 15-18 group got 5th. Before the race he goes can I race with your bike, I did not want to say no not to discourage him, the bike was too hard for him SS 33-18. Well everything has some kind of a learning curve.

Good organization and good race.

i took 12th...1:03:??...i would have loved to have amy lap under an hour but😱 i was 10min behind you. it was a big group 27riders. and the cat2 guys are fast

We passed eachother like 3 times, That kid is fast for age! Got me on a climb or 2:drooling:

Was that you with the family chillin under the tent? If so I totally didn't make the connection with you and this site. Nice work yesterday!
 
Tyler saw your dad out there yesterday. Was good to see him again! Glad they came out to cheer you on you did really well for your 1st race!
 
I was hoping to have laps under an hour as well. I was just shy of that. 3:03 was my recorded finish time. Does anyone know if those posted times were corrected? If so my time is more like 2:57, which is a lil better.

The results that were hanging on the thing weren't corrected. My posted time was like 2:46 and my actual race time was 2:40. I'm sure they'll subtract the time out when they put the results up on the site😀

My first race ever!

Wow..what a great day waywayanda was my very first race ever...
cat 3 50+ and this old man came in first place!!!!!
now i ask you how kool is that??
and two of my daughters drove up 80 miles to cheer dad on. Thanks Briana and Faith I love both!
 
Congratulations to all the racers!

Chainsaw, Crashalot, and the other first timers: thanks for all your impressions of the race. I will be entering my first one soon (a bit later in the series) and all of your input has me so stoked!
