Waway Wrap Up

I never moved from that spot, I think I just about died trying to get my 40+ pound pack + water up to that spot on flat pedals and hiking boots, wearing 2 pairs of pants and a rain suit. I'm glad I did, even with all my clothes on I started shivering pretty bad at one point in the rain.

Alright you bastards, I'll do a MTBNJ jersey pics, but you have to give me some time to sort through them and pick them out and put them in another directory. I also will set the printing as zero markup. Donations being completely optional but much appreciated.

Damn I really should do some "work today"
I guess after I get back from getting a burrito.

Luke, you give me my pictures and I will buy you cadillac fajitas at Jose Tejas. Ill even thown in diet coke and guac! 😀

You've gotta get a trailer, Luke. I was pulling my 3 year old in a Chariot trailer (40 lb kid, 30 lb trailer), and climbed all of the Laurel Pond trail, exposed rock and all, all the way up to Cherry Ridge Road and the turnoff onto the Lookout trail, with one dab. I was pissed about that dab, too- was ONE ROCK SLAB AWAY from cleaning the entire climb up to where Wingdam intersects with Laurel Pond. 😉

I <3 Chariot trailers.

I HAD to smile to hide the pain! I am amazed at how may people showed - newbies to racing, teamies, and people from mtbnj! It was so awesome to show up to a race and have such a network of great people!

Congrats to everyone! So many of you podiumed and did fabulous! And so many of you showed for your first race and impressed the crap out of me. Great job!

Now, can I start complainging? For me, this was the worst race I have ever done. It started with a cracked frame and poison ivy (and therefore lack of sleep because of scratching all night). I went back and forth all the way from the time I woke up, to the finish of the 2nd lap... go back home? Just go and take pics? Just ride a lap, but don't race? Race, but stop after first lap if I feel like crap? Flip a freaking coin. 🙂

I spent the whole first lap going back and forth between DNFing and sucking it up. As I came through the start/finish, I planned to stop, but everyone was cheering, so I couldn't just stop. I kept going and I had fun saying hi to everyone, socializing on the course, and making jokes. On the way home I had a barf bag next to me and kept my eyes open for places to pull over.

All in all though, it's a day to remember...the worst days are the best memories. 🙂

Thanks to everyone who put this together and who cheered (yelled at for cheering??).

Come on the best part had to be your second lap while riding with me on my warmup ... admit it!

I have to say I think MTBNJ had the best support / cheering group out of all I saw out there. Everytime or familiar face or orange jersey went by the start / finish line got entertaining. 😀 Not so for the others it seemed. Evidently there was also a team bottle handler MIA there as well. More than a few looked at us weird since we were sans bottles.

Yeah I shouted to you too!
Here's my thanks for the Thankgiving tour 😀

Yeah, but then you had to go and turn left and I was by myself again 🙁 Next time I'll chase you for a full lap! You just watch how fast I can be! 🙂

If you won I would say you are quite safe to move up. I got 5th at the kitt. cat 3 race last year, moved up to sport for ringwood and got 4th.

Aww...there's the Joe we all know and love.

He's waaaay too clean.

My shots should be pretty nice. It depends on what time the pics will be cause at one point I smashed my leg into my handlebar and had blood streaming down my leg. I wonder if anyone got a pic of that. I was #66.
