The Great Northern Migration Ride, July 26, Mahlon Dickerson

I think this falls under Fogersons "must do" list. You should hop on with us, I mean them and get the proper tour.

The "most technical" trails at MDR are Beaver Brook and what we refer to as "Anrothars Alley". I have no intention of dragging a group through either one...1) I don't ride 'em very often myself (I do more walkin' than ridin') and 2) It is tough enough keeping a group together at MDR on the "less-than-most-technical" trails.

We'll hit The Wall, Stone Gate, bottom of Devil's Staircase, Cascade, 3-stone, and the WMA (not necessarily in that order). Plenty of technical stuff, but all ridable for those with basic, but solid, technical riding skills...unlike the "rock hound" havens like Beaver Brook and Anrothars Alley that take a bit more skill or a lot more hikin'.

Now with all that being said, if a some of you want to ride with the group for awhile then split off to hit the really tough stuff, that's cool. We'll be riding by the turn to Beaver Brook right after The Wall very early in the ride and will be riding by the turn to Anrothars alley at the end of Cascade 'bout 1/3 of the way into the ride.

im gonna have to keep an eye on the calender, i might be able to make this one happen ill let you know when it gets close

I'll have to decide if I'm up for this closer to, but I would like to venture out there.

C'mon up! The nice thing about MDR and the route I have planned is that there are several "low-probability-of-getting-lost-making-your-way-back-to-the-car" bail points if you find at some point you've had enough.

This ride will be about 3 miles longer than the ride at Allaire last weekend with probably only 25% more elevation change (but the changes are steeper). However, with the technical sections and hills, we'll get more spread out, stop more, and thusly intensity won't be quite what it was at Allaire.

I expect that most will definitely feel like they've been on a helluva ride at the end, however I don't expect that anybody will be puking either.

I hope I can make this ride. It will all depend on work, which is, as always, the bane of my existence.
