So, What are you doing this winter?

The female section has been quiet lately. Some of you may be busy playing in the snow, others trying to figure out what to do this winter.

I love to ride my bike most, but when it is too cold or snow covers the trails, I will go XC skiing. If it warms up, I might do some road riding if road conditions are safe. Trainer and gym are last choices, but I do them now and then. I also like to make soup. 🙂

Tell us what you like to do in winter.

I just pulled the trigger and registered for a Half Ironman, so I will be swimming, biking and running this winter. Lots!

I will ride outside in the worst of conditions. That is how much I hate the trainer. So I will be outside, training......and training..and training....😀
 
There's a reason my screen name is "ski-freak"... I try to get out as much as possible. I'm in Vermont now...have a season pass to Camelback for after work riding and will get out to UT next month.

My roadbike is set up on the trainer so I do get on it a few times a week. Also have snowshoes that I occasionally get to use. Lounging on the couch with a good book is also great!
 
fully recovered from a nasty staf infection in my knee last month. Ready to ride but for now its downhill skiing mostly with my kids and I don't mind the gym. I am so fortunate to have a smaller, CLEAN gym and I have many friends there.
 
My life gets insane between Halloween and New years. Too many demands and fitness gets the backseat. As soon as the kids get back to school I will have some time again. I plan to ride when possible, run, snowshoe, and hopefully xc ski. I feel like crap and have some catching up to do.

We all feel your pain. You and every other wife and mom on the planet go through the same thing this time of year. It is not easy. It will be fine. Plenty of time to get ready!
 
I've been doing my best to stay completely immobile, eat everything within reach and gain 20 lbs by January 1st...

Yeah, right.... Is there really an off season???? Battenkill is only a few months away! GO GO GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!

I would love to see you sit still for two mins and eat a cookie or something bad. Come to think of it, the only thing I have ever seen you eat is gel. Is that the secret? The all gel diet?
 
Spin Film Festival

I am riding my spin bike and watching dvds, eating chocolate, hiking, eating chocolate, snowshoeing, eating chocolate. Also doing pilates to firm up and eating chocolate.

Kids go back to school Monday. Holidays are done. Things will change......:getsome:

Sorry to but in ladies, but on the topic of chocolate...
A funny thing happened the other day. My wife is a cookie fiend. She bought cookie dough from the kid next door and when the poor girl delivered it, my wife practicaly snatched it out of her hands and went right to oven to bake. I just looked at the girl and said "She really likes cookies". The girl looked at me like I was crazy.
I have this theory that chocolate makes up for the lack of sun we are all experiencing. Or at least we try to make it do so. 😀
 
I will be riding my horses and bikes 🙂 I will try and get some more rock climbing in and snow shoeing I don't do winter sports 🙂 speaking of tossing riding I am a newbie anyone wanna help with rides ? I need locations and distances. Idk how far to start off riding and so on
 
Winter is for snowboarding 😀 Otherwise I've been hanging around/ falling off stuff at NJ Rock Gym a bunch too. I really can't stand exercising indoors so when the snow melts I'll be out riding my new 29er SS. Oh and xc skiing too.

I had foot surgery early Dec. so no exercise, I spent the holidays eating cookies and drinking wine. It was great but I'm finished indulging and got on the spin bike today for the first time. It felt so good to train!

As soon as snow melts a bit more I'll be on the roads and then on to frozen trails. I have a great gym at work so I can fit in a spin and some weights a couple times a week too.

You may NOT see me sit still for two minutes but you can easily catch me eating like a sloth! Yes, I do indeed enjoy my gels and I just found out that my new team has a little sponsorship with GU! I may be on the all GU diet! 🙂

My CX bike is STILL in the shop following my Nationals disaster... I'm going to continue to drink pinot noir until it's fixed...
