Spring Silence: Uncoiling the Fat Dragon

HA! After I finished doing the lawn on Saturday, I thought of doing that. Shit took me 2.5 hours.

It actually isn't. I can't fig out why people choose to have something like this take 2.5 hours when it could get done in an hour. That would gain u 1.5 hours of riding time if my math is right

This is my normal morning mess these days. The wok was from last night but the food carnage is a daily thing. Breakfast is eggs with pepper, avocado, and tomato. Plus a coffee. It was good but the hangover this morning takes precedence. So I’m in a mental half daze. Time bending takes a bit out of you so by Sunday I threw the towel in and said screw it.
The river at this time of year has crap growing out of it so I did a quick swipe. Yes on the wheels but it still is a push mower. I was doing a lot of 1 handed pushing and carrying piles of sticks to the back. It was spring cleanup at the same time.
What the hell is turtle and rabbit? Anything like Hill and Dale?
So I’m going to gps my morning constitutional next. Max HR guesses?
Traffic this morning was crappy so the commute was long. Still have a headache but only a bit light. Need more coffee.
Off the bike today. Back at the pre-dawn rides tomorrow morning. I hope. Need to see if I can jet out at 4:00 on Tuesdays and make the A ride some of these weeks.

nevermind that. i want to see the elevation gain/loss.
I'm wondering if you would have had a higher rate if you ran it in rabbit mode.

I did something similar this winter shoveling snow... It was a decent hour and half aerobic excercise
unless you shovel like ben "the blizzard" tufford, you only earn 18 minutes of cardio for every hour shoveled.

Back to this stuff. This is toward the end of the ride, maybe the middle. When I left it was dark, about 5:10 or 5:15. Done before 6:30. This week the rubber meets the road and I get to see how well I can really handle this shit. Not feeling quite as motivated right now as I was last week. I’m very tired this week. Feel like I gained 7 pounds since Saturday.
So of course this morning I went and did some intervals. I’m going to have to actually train if I want to keep some part of my fitness. I went with 2s today just because, 4 of them. Again the power was terrible which isn’t a good thing. I just don’t think it’s ever going to be there when I ride at wake-up plus 30*o’clock. I may come around but it’s going to take time for sure. If the power keeps dragging I’ll do more SST stuff and less high-end. Tomorrow I’ll see what I can do with 20s.
The A ride tonight is doubtful at best. Most of my free time right now has to do with the race. It’s barreling down like fat people at a free chocolate festival. I’m so on the edge of “this is going to be great” vs. “holy shit this is a lot of work.” I posted the gpx file on the FB fan page and it took no time for people to not know what it was.
Kinda forgot I was writing this. Ok question of the morning. You’re eating peanuts in the shell and one drops in the garbage, but doesn’t land on anything nasty. Do you eat it?
