Spring Silence: Uncoiling the Fat Dragon

Its funny I used the stuff for half a dozen times with no problem then WHAM, full blown itchy rash. Everyone else I know has no problems with the stuff. I've even used the DZ stuff and caught a little itchyness.

Guess I have a slight allergic reaction to it.

Oh yes you can embrocate anytime!

From Mad Alchemy
"Our basic warm weather embrocation is a simple, crisp, non-warming muscle rub with mint and eucalyptus essential oils. The Grapeseed, Soybean, and beeswax base nourishes your skin while protecting it from the rigors of cycling. Grapeseed oil works particularly well in preventing the premature breakdown of the epithelial cell membranes helping to maintain skin integrity. This formula is made with cool spearmint and the natural bug repelling properties of eucalyptus. This emollient is perfect for summer road and mountain biking. "

This stuff does make you faster. I used it once and had every dog in the neighborhood chasing after me. Never rode so fast in my life.

Why? Would I have ladies with flowers in their long hair wearing colorful frocks chasing me?

I was hoping this thread would end up with a better finale, but this week is tough. At least so far.

I'd like to at least give you all a few pieces of advice:

1. Don't shave your legs unless you really, really know what you're in for.
2. Don't take on the task of running a race unless you really, really know what you're in for.

And of course...

3. Don't shave your legs on the same week that your first race ever is coming to fruition, because you have no idea really what you're in for.

Thanks, back to the millstone.

ask fred, I am sure he has had an experience or 20 there:

Halters Unicorn Kit + Shaved Legs + Electric Green Booties + Summer Embro + New Hope is just asking for a certian attention

See the problem is that I fit in so well there that I am hardly noticed.😛

Its Ben that they are after!

This is an upside down dunk tank. Sadly it won’t be at the race Sunday but maybe that’s just as well. It just didn’t work out.

I rode Tuesday and today, not yesterday. I’ll ride Saturday not Sunday. Sunday I’m just going to do nothing all day.

RNG1 took me to lunch today. I ate forbidden foods like bread and some French fries. I forgot to take a picture of him so this is what you get. Dunk tank > Rob in the Interesting Pic department.

I’m really tired. This is so much work. It’s magnified by it being my first race. But I’m also OCD (No, really?). So 1 person might be like, “Eh it’ll work out.” I’m trying to make everything line up perfectly.

This would be impossible without the DarkHorse guys. Thanks guys. Mike, George, and Mike have been great. Mad support from their whole team, and High Gear, and also Bulldog. I think those 3 teams make up like 1/6 of the field. I just deleted a paragraph thanking people for fear of forgetting someone. I’ll do that later, maybe Monday.

The difference between racer and promoter:

Racer: Yeah I dunno these trails are going to be bad so I wonder if I should go. You know they may cancel it. Maybe I’ll ask for a refund.

Promoter: Satan could come and lance me through the heart with a petrified pile of dog shit, but this goddamn race is going to go off as planned. IDGAF about rain. I’ve spent 17 minutes with my family this week and you whiney bastards are going to line up, race, and smile!

No really, you’ll love it. It will be a great race. I’ll be the drunk one. At 8:00. In the morning.

I had something else to say but I forget what. My legs are starting to grow back hair. I was going to keep shaving for a month but frankly this is absurd and far too much work. What’s this have to do with a race?

Ok tea time. No idea when I’ll be back.

You're the man. The race will be awesome. I will surely want to kill myself after 3 hours. Life will be normal again next week.

Oh wait, aren't we all going to die on Saturday?

Oh crap. That's right, the world is ending. We should just take the entry fees and go to Vegas, get some hookers and coke. What a waste of all your time. I have to admit, I really thought you would have checked with Harold Kamping.

Holy cow, the blue number in the pic is almost Lou. Lou is 405. Dress accordingly.

I finally get to meet Colin this weekend!
