Going Long and Hard.

Ah ha! I have been meaning to ask this question for say a month now. I have some glue on an aluminum tubular that needs to be removed. I just have not had the time and do it. I thought Goof off would work. Now I have confirmation!

Yup, I've used it with reasonable success. You want a long, plastic vessel to put it in ideally (I think a large Evian water bottle would likely work). Then you either soak the spot, or spin the wheel to get it across the rim. You definitely want to be outside and you definitely want a good cotton mask on; it is a nasty, headache-inducing smell. I use a plastic knife (takeout food variety) as a scraper, and once most is off, I'm done. With a carbon rim, it was super easy as a rag basically took it all off b/c there aren't any eyelets.

You can also dab some on a clean rag and wipe down the brake track if any glue spills over. I wipe the wheel with alcohol afterward to get rid of the smell.

lucky for me these are mavic wheels so the eyelets not be an issue. 😀

Thanks again. Ill let ya know how I make out.

I am hoping once I glue my these Limus's up that I wont need them. Instead Id like to use my file treads more!

Be careful using an adhesive remover. It will soften the glue and if you dont take it all off the base later is compromised.

monday.

Workout: Something clever involving the words "play hard" and "rest harder".

The real deal: Sorry Hunter, you're gonna have to SaD. I'm going to drown my sorrows in nice long mountain bike ride 😀

Ran up to the shop to get my Sola. I forgot I still had to button up some stuff after putting on the new fork. Had to go with a new stem to get the correct drop and I got a slightly wider handlebar. Now that I've sorta come to grips with the mobility I'll have in my shoulder, it's time to modify my rig a little. Opened it up 20mm on each side. Headed over to the Rock the give her a good testing.

En route to the Rock I realized I didn't set the air in the fork. It was set for someone that's like 100 pounds. Didn't go back though, F that, I just turned the compression adjustment up to compensate. Sweet.

The Rock was pretty wet. I wouldn't suggest going there anytime soon. At least not unless you want to put in a 2-hour lap, which is what I did. Normally this ride takes me right around 2.5 hours, today was 3:15:00. It's only 30 miles so yeah. The rock is wet. And now I have to wash another bike...

My legs actually feel fine. These next couple weeks I'll try to concentrate on getting in some volume. Somehow since the last time I jumped on a scale I went up to 175 pounds. I know for a fact cutting out my uber rides had something to do with that. Not adjusting my diet enough to compensate for not doing those uber rides was the another something. My diet food-wise has gotten very good, but my portions are off. Of course I always have better luck riding more than eating less 😀

speaking od reha, any issues with air loss? i picked up one before mooch madness, rode it there, didnt ride it since. Rode it around my driveway last night and shit had like no air pressure in it...

Tuesday.

Bike : 4x15 CX threshold work
Planned Time: 2:00:00

The modification. Commute into work easy. My legs need to be spun out a bit after yesterday's longish ride. DRILL IT home. Work the entire time, standing accelerations out of every turn, murder myself up Washington Rock, race cars on Washington Ave light to light. Basically, pretend it's a cross race. I end up short in the time dept because my commute isn't long enough. Whatever, I'm 3 hours over this week already and it's only tuesday 😀

Bike porn.

Another one of Lori's bikes. She's becoming quite the Mini Sneeze. We collaborated on this project and I helped her with the harder stuff, like putting Zipp VumaQuads in a BB30. She built the rest of the bike herself. I gave her a picture of the Gulf GT40 race car to use as reference, she's got a decal kit from an RC car coming and we're gonna detail it with sponsors and such. It's gonna be super-bad-ass!! I'm also re-building these Edge rims with Mango Chris King R45 hubs. Blah-DOW!!

Food.

Streamlining the process a little bit. I usually go over to Shop Rite and hit the salad bar everyday. Running over there and waiting in line all the time sucks. It also increases my chances to buy something terrible. Today I just bought 1/2 dozen bags of those ready-made salads and a couple boxes of Quorn naked cutlets. I got a 4-pack of greek yogurts. I need to stop going over with EJP because he eats a lot of food. Like an insane amount of food. I bought less for for the week than he did for lunch yesterday alone, that's not good, it throws off my perception of normal. On the flip-side to that Pete drinks a thing of V8 everyday and eats no solid food at all. He's also the angriest person I've ever met in my life. I can only assume the 2 are somehow related :hmmm:

That is all.

Pete is angry? He seems like such a nice guy.

I like Lori's bike. Very cool. But I'm having a hard time not using the word "cute" here. It looks 2 feet tall. She's not that short is she?

Bag salad FTW! I told my wife this week that if I lived alone I'd buy 14 of them a week. I like adding feta cheese and almonds. I'm not thinner than you so you can ignore this advice. But after yesterday's confession I bet my BMI is dangerously close. Eat more turkey, turkey. I love Greek yogurt and ice cream too.

EJP = Everyman James Pearl? Yeah he eats like shit but is like 5-11 and 155. F'ing kids.

PS. Newark sucks.

Downward sloping hoods? Wrist pain alert!

Nice bike though and I find it entertaining how many uses of Fizik demo saddles there are in real life.

I think Enzo is still rolling in his grave thinking about how ford handed him his ass 4 years in a row.
