Opinion on Why Drivers Hate Cyclists

Your right Maurice it was the wrong article, here's the correct one, but you know what I'll just copy and paste the best part for you

"Many pin the blame on the bicyclists, leading some police, including those in Alpine and Fort Lee, to issue tickets to cyclists who violate rules of the road.

Englewood Cliffs Police Chief Michael Cioffi said he’s seen such violations firsthand. “Many times we see two or three bikers abreast. They cut across the road, go through traffic lights and stop signs. Eventually their luck will not always be there and someone won’t see them.”

Once again the gist of the article is that the road is poorly designed for the amount of bike traffic that is present on the weekends. The one quote you mentioned is only three sentences in the entire article. The rest of the article is discussing the need for proper bike lanes and at least suitable shoulders. Installation of bike lanes and in some places a shoulder would alleviate most of the problem. This seems to be in progress based on the article.

I always thought they hated me cause I was Sexier. You mean the beeps was to get off the road not "wiggle wiggle wiggle." This is going to change everything!

Seriusly, none of you ever get the impulse to mow a muther fucker down who is riding a bike like he owns the road? I do, and I could give two shits about share the road, we have privlidges propaganda. Share the road means stay in the fucking bike lane, period.

+1

I keep my ass as close to the shoulder as possible when I'm road riding. That's the unspoken rule of the road. If you can't keep your bike on that line (except to get around potholes and dead squirrels of course) then go find a rail trail to ride and get the $%&# off the street. 😀

Your all right. There is never any reason for a motorist to become frustrated with the amount of road a single persons need to ride their bike.

Hey, for me, half the time I'm on here, whom I comment to is just an avatar. Sometimes I know the person, many times not. I was just informed that I do indeed know you. We met this summer when I came to the shore with my family and you rolled out the red carpet for us.You are truly one of the nicest guys I'd ever want to meet.Really so sorry about all the devastation your area just endured. It's heartbreaking. If you ever get up North, our home is open.

So what's your issue today? This is the second time you've mentioned killing someone. That's really totally unnecessary.

I know the past 2 weeks have been tough on a lot of people. But really, let's take a step back and think about stuff before we post.

It's not even winter yet.
