Smokey & the Bandit Extended Online Race

Thats not too too bad. But any headwind is always a pain in the ass. I consider anything sustained at 15-20 mph with gusts higher to suck.

George, either the link is wrong or it's set to private, Chief.

beat me to it.

I think connect is acting up. I set the track to public before I posted the link, Pal.

it still ain't workin', boss.

what is high wind?

I thought it was pretty bad this morning or I'm just a sissy

you're just a sissy.

i f'd up my front disc brake last night. well, actually i think it was my kids, but i hate to blame them. they were "fixing" my bike last night with some plastic screw drivers.

anyway, one of the little tab-things that holds the pad is bent out so it hits the disc making this super-cool clanking sound on every inch the wheel rotates. can i just bend this thing back? i brought my bike into work to fix it on lunch so i can ride tonight.

you'll all see an update shortly once i rescore AM's stuff.

AM - i'm gonna drop you into commuter. it makes more sense anyway, since you do actually commute, and your avg speed limit won't be so stiff for your ride in.

Yes I did. I was gonna hold till I figured out why my garmin never recorded. I want to show proof. But I think the low batt was at fault but I did grab the charging cable on my way out. So I'll charge and use on way home to prove my commute. And I'm too cheap to buy batteries for the cycling computer.

Is that the 410? I have the same one - I just keep it always attached to the charging clip when not in use - not sure if that's a good idea or not but it's worked fine for the 6 months I've had it. I had one ride not record and it turned out I had inadvertantly turned off GPS mode.

the 405. Old school. My wife's retired running watch.

I think it was just low battery. Just tested after full charge. Seems good. Yea, I know it has a very sensitive bezel. Sometimes if you wear it on your wrist while riding you may accidently hit the stop button. I need the bike mount, but $10 for a huge plastic shim... I'll just hack one up.

Anyways, FTR I should be at 15 after riding home.
3/1 (double), 10pts
3/4, 5pts

A short ride at RV today. Puke Hill is still blocked but I tried to do the best I could, then hit the other side of the water by the dam. It's still better than the road in this wind. 2 points.

Heading to AC tomorrow for a few days. M3Tim, stay off the bike!

I had the same problem - especially on trails when crashing I sometimes hit the stop button. Then it dawned on me - just wrap it on the bike stem like your wrist - works great, easier to see it and no more inadvertant turning off.

Off from work today had a Dentist appointment

So commuted/recovery ride to the dentist, where root canal was preformed. So half the ride was supported by PED Novocaine :getsome:

Do i get bonus for that?

I'd second a bonus pt for riding to/from a dentist - especially for a root canal.

Which reminds me, I'm getting an endoscopy on thursday - how many bonus pts for riding on a propofol high??

Another long one today. 5+ hours. 86 miles with just over 7K over climbing. I felt every god damn inch of those feet too after yesterday :drooling:

Little windy this morning but nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.

Here's a picture.

no operating machinery after propofol ?

Just a little over an hour today at Allaire with fidodie and The Hub. Could have been 1 hour 15 minutes. Maybe 7 or 8 miles. You can all ask Pat.

I had fun. thats all the bonus I need right now.

No commute in today, I have at least 4 reasons why. But I wont bore you all with it.

This morning's ride ...

1:46, 17 miles, off-road. 4 points ...

Don't know how often I'll be able to convince myself to ride before 5 am, but this was fun today!

I have to check out The Wiss some time, looks like a fun place to ride. I even bought a trail permit for 2012 but didn't get a chance to get out there, only hit Pennypack once this winter as well...
Is this a good loop that you would recommend for someone to follow?

I think the exact wording is "heavy machinery". Bike loophole??

depends on if your bike is carbon. 😀

And boom went the dynamite. Nice ride caballero.
Good luck with recovery there.

Ha- the visual of the kids Fisher Price wrenching your ride made me chuckle.
Sounds like you need to get them a Park manual and some real tools.

Last thought on the floating bonus days- that's cool for folks who don't have flexible ride times, and if the idea is just to give them a shot too,
(and not to add a layer of strategery to the game) then why not apply the floating bonus to the next ride submitted after the missed bonus day.
That would simplify things a little I think.

If you wanted to leave flexibility to it, you could offer leeway to folks who miss 3 or more of the bonus days-
they could chose the days they want to double up.
Maybe that makes it complicated, I dunno.
Just thoughts on beta testing the system here.

For me today: 1 hour
