Peezy's Black Magic 2013

Pearl To The Rescue!!!! Glad you were there to help him out... This also paints another great picture about why you should ALWAYS wear your brain bucket.... Glad Lou is alright and also glad Pearl was there to take care of him........

I don't know Lou but I'm also glad you saved him. Glad to hear you're ok dude! I think that face goes perfectly with the "meh" shirt. And happy birthday too.

That's a scary picture you paint of Lou. Glad you were able to get him into the ER without him taking a swing at you. 🙂

Monday Thanks for the birthday love. Didn't feel much different this morning. Sadly, I don't think a Seven is in the cards for me, not unless I plan on riding my bike everywhere 😛

It hasn't rained in what, 10 days? Then it mists all day on my birthday. Wanted to do a birthday ride but that was out the window. I decided last second to reach out to some peoples, and had a nice little gathering with Lou, Utah and Luke. I think we could have closed the place down; conversation just kind of flows when you are with these people. The waiter was kind of getting pissed that we were just taking up his table, so we hit the road. Enjoyed some chips and fajitas. I always shy away from them because they take up so much room and I hate building my dinner, but it was a good choice. One I will make from now on.

I was going to plan on heading to the A- ride at High Gear tomorrow, but needed a little more motivation than the after party. I was hoping Utah would be that bump, but his crappy Android phone let us down and didn't get the message to me in time to pack my crap. POS phones.

So after a little guilt trip action, Utah twisted my arm and I headed out to the A- Ride. I apparently made a sketchy decision myself at one point according to one rider, but what are you gonna do. Sadly we don't have video evidence to discuss it, so we will just let it go. Ride was just what I needed me thinks. It was a little scary at points but was pretty relaxing until Iggy and Utah made Liberty Corner hurt a little bit more than it should have.

I didn't hurt like I thought I would after Sunday, but I probably shouldn't have pushed it in some spots. I think I'll pay for it later. Spoke about future races and I really need to take a chill pill with them. Yes, I feel good, but at this rate I'm going to die.

Glenn came through and hooked up a super BBQ. Chatted with a bunch of peeps and enjoyed the delicious goods. He got some real burgers, some good doggies, and apparently had brewskis. It was a good time. Before I knew it, It was 8:30 and I should be heading home.

I saddled up and followed a local KOM killer in my area earlier last week. He puts in tons of work. Then when I get home, I found another guy in the area that just took out another local one. Glad to see either some cyclists are in this area, or not glad that everyone else around me has gotten faster 😛

Nice pic, thanks 🙂

You did awesome on that climb, I was not expecting to look over and see you there.

I enjoyed the ride....I was a little sketched by dudeman tucking while in the paceline, but other than that, it was quite fun.

roadies always find something to comment on in a paceline to those they never met. especially if u got hairy legs and ride faster then them. Utah gave this awesome leadout to a sprint last year and got yelled out for not getting out of the way after he burried himself. once you get yelled at once they usually leave you alone.

you have been riding well lately, i say strike while the iron is hot. imo u should do iron hill, i hear it has flow similiar to stewart. I wouldnt wait until stoopid 50 for your next race.

Perfect day for a ride...and BBQ! Looked like a good time!

I was on the fence about Iron Hill - I had a great time 2 years ago when we went...even if we did miss the Baja Fresh rest stop on the way home.

Agreed^. I think we are done with 40* days and crap weather...now I can finally put the trainer in the closet and ride outside

don't let Kevin see the dreaded word "trainer"...lol. there was a frost warning this AM believe it or not!

Doesn't he notice it is in the forties every night now and some in the thirties? We aren't out if the woods until mid may. One of the downsides of riding early. Early rides have their time in the summer doe.

Didn't notice. Arm warmers and summer jersey for my midnight rode home

I miss a day and no one calls me out, sweet. I just got Mexican food by B&L's new spot, had to wait for 25 minutes for our stuff. Note to self.

Thursday, yes, One day left until the weekend. It was gorgeous out and I really wanted to mountain bike. I knew woody was looking for blood after we had a rough day at SSaP, so I made sure I steered clear of this. I hit the tow path and put some tunes on. Someone moved the fences where they are doing construction, so it was easier to pass this time. Got hung up going past a backhoe doe 😛

Dump into the ST and see Rick in front of me, hopefully I wasn't the reason he fell 😉

Just like anything else on a afternoon at Six Mile, this place is jumpin. Tons of people out and I don't blame them. I'm kind of in the zone and going through the motions at this point. It is my home park after all. I can close my eyes and probably ride this place, as long as Jay hasn't throw in anything new. Onto white and I start thinking about tons of other things besides riding. Then I zig instead of zag and hit two trees with my left bar.

Anndddd now I'm on the ground. This one hurt though. I didn't smack my head. I took about 5 seconds to take an inventory and I'm off. Man, that really took the wind out of my sails. Thankfully I remembered what happened and was able to which way to head next. I get it together about 5 minutes into the ride and just return to business. Ran into Alex_k on the white trail reversed, he is either looking thin or is wearing baggier clothes.

Oh yeah, the canal path. The bugs or gnats or whatever they are are FREAKING ANNOYING AS SHIT. Can someone please tell me what they do for the ecosystem? I have to ride with my hand over my mouth and nose so I don't get a free dinner. Thankfully it takes the numbness out of riding, but on the other hand, hitting 10,000 of these things suck.

I kept it mellow in hopes that I don't feel tired Friday, but we will see.

woody said pics or it didn't happen, surely you know I deliver:

One is a hole, and the other is just a chunk of skin missing. I think it is still stuck to my jersey with all the blood along with it 😛 I haven't head a Six Mile Tattoo in a while, I think this one will stick around for a while. SMT's dont really hurt or get bonus pain/gore points, but for some reason the scars stay with you for a while.

This is my skinned pinky.

I must have hit a branch that was just trimmed off of the tree, feels pretty jammed up. Nothing terrible doe.

I was happy to be back on my Scalpel. And gears. I adjusted my seat a little because I think it slipped the last time. I need to figure out if it is time to put on a new rear tire now or stick with what I have for the weekend if we decide to head up north. Not sure I want to destroy a tire again up thurr 😛

damn that looks like a decent hit - on the shoulder. ouch - no thanks. at least you gave the bugs a head start on where to bite you.

the canal is the buggiest (is that word?) place in central NJ. the only place that i think is worse is the sourlands pipeline trail in the summer. the horseflies are the size of small dogs and are on you the second you stop. i guess i need to stop less? :hmmm:

mandi - were you on canal road yesterday around the afternoon commute time? i saw an mtbnj kit cruising by going toward rocky hill on my way home from work.

Man...those are some knicks...at least I know I'm not the only one clipping trees.

I ate a ton of bugs yesterday - I think the worst for me is when they go in my helmet. Perhaps I should wear a cap and won't feel them buzzing around.

See you Sunday!?
