Hipster Keys
welcome to my....thing...
i dont know what this is going to turn into. but im not currently in the middle of remodeling my house...so i guess it will have to focus more on my training and adventure racing schedule
For those who dont know me. Im Aaron, for the most part im a lurker here, and im best known for getting luke into climbing, and trying to keep up with utah every so often on a training ride.
I also like to think that im the token adventure racer on the forum here, but who really cares...and if you dont know what adventure racing is, just know this...it is NOT obstacle racing or mud running.
Ive been keeping a training log on attackpoint for the past few years.

that site is really helpful, but for the most part i just log time and activity, and how many miles are on my running shoes. I dont really make many notes about what im doing, so maybe thats what this here will be.
So, to do something constructive, lets look over what i accomplished in training/racing last year, as far as time:
about 410 hrs total
128 hrs adventure racing
44.5 hrs rock climbing
70.5 hrs on mtb rides
87 hrs on the road bike
15.5 hrs of road running (104 miles)
35 hrs trail running (185 miles)
8 hrs on the XC skis (thank you early winter snows)
and some other miscelaneous gym type strength training
Ive never been that awesome at any sport in particular, but i have a huge desire do try and do anything...which i think is why i excel at adventure racing..because it involves so much, and i tend to not get burned out training, because i need to train in so many different disciplines.
the one discipline i totally lack training in is paddling, of which i have no excuse for, because i life on a freaking lake and have 2 kayaks...im just lazy.
im not really a GPS user, and dont think i will be, as adventure racing does not allow GPS to navigate, so its just never caught on with me.
ill stop rambling for now.
a picture of some of my AR team, im on the left with the white helmet and headlamp
