Been trying to teach my nephew to do ANYTHING other than Minecraft, and got bit by the climbing bug again. Just bought a crap-load of trad gear. (Used, of course, 'cause what could be safer? If I die, it's Gui's fault.)
For now, I'm pulling plastic at Gravity Vault in Chatham, which is fun, but the Trapps calls. Or Peterskill. I used to spend a lot of time up there, even dabbling in aid climbing on Twilight Zone and Spinal Traction.
Anyone else do this when not being brilliant on the trails?

Many more, I'm drawing a blank. I got my rack from Mergs but he's gone.
I talked to Aaron about a group trip to Peterskill for a top rope party. Then I got an invitation in the mail to go to a party for my neighbor's 80th the day we picked. So I have to figure something out and we should all meet up at Peterskill and flail around. I've got 3 ropes, 3 harnesses, a pile of 8-9.5 shoes. Could get some beginners in on the action too like @soundz. It's not a rappel off a cliff near the ocean so maybe @Robin would give it another shot.
 
I wouldn't mind getting back outside on the rocks. It's been a little while and currently my arm is dinged up but if it's in a few weeks I'd be game. I've got two ropes, 2-3 harnesses, and a pile of sport draws.

I'll try to contact the rangers. There's a 100 climber, 30 boulderer cap on the park, so getting more than a carload at a time in could be a pita. If everyone doesn't have to be lined up at 8:30 am filling out forms in the parking lot, that would be more better.
Is there a non-bikey hole in the calendar anywhen soon?

Just checked with the Minnewaska Park Dept. folks - can't reserve for people. It's a first come, first served arrangement. UNLESS there's a guide involved. They can apparently reserve spots out of the 100 at a time. It's prolly not that big a deal, especially since we're all used to being in muddy parking lots at ass o'clock in the morning...
 
May 2nd is open for me. And the 9th.
Probably won't be super crowded yet with college still in session. Just a lot of canadians.
 
And it's 1.1 Canadians to the American now, right? So we should all be able to fit, right?
Both of those days are good fer me, too.
 
I'm probably booked to coach my kids baseball game both those weekends. If I'm not, I will cash in some chips for this. Would love to get back up to Lost City. Texas Flake or Golden Streaks.

I'll keep my eye on this thread.

Though I think Woody isn't actually as tall as I keep thinking.
