Walter, I can’t follow your logic. If you want to buy at a cheaper price because the standard has become obsolete you should promote the super boost + and the next coming standard so you can take advantage of all the deals out there being generated by the 135, 142and 148 de facto obsolescence, not diss on it! I remember a guy that looks vaguely like you telling me once ‘26” is dead Leo!’...I'm curious on the weight penalties for a super boost wheelset
When plus wheels came out, many drifted back to 2.5-2.6 due to weight
Also others when back to 2.3-2.4 cause bigger was also noticeably slower
After playing the tire game last year, my perfect setups are 2.4 fronts and 2.3 rears, for faster flowy parks and 2.6 fronts and 2.4 rears for chunkier trails.
True that.Forks are 2nd or the 3rd most expensive component on a bike
The rs1 can be had for less, you should really compare MSRP...by the way, it’s predicting steering...whatever that is, I’m sure @qclabrat would not approve!Sometimes more....
RS-1: $1400
RDO frame: $1299
😛
I do not disagree... I also think the RDO would look awesome with that fork but I just can't justify the cost. The rs1 can be had for less, you should really compare MSRP...by the way, it’s predicting steering...whatever that is, I’m sure @qclabrat would not approve!
Jokes aside, I always liked that fork. I guess I have a thing for weird forks, I have an entire fleet of noleen crosslinks after all!

Tires sizes 27.5 and 29 are standards, wheel spacings of various increments are not. How can something be considered a standard when its only around for a few years? Its all just marketing mumble jumble. I know you want to justify super boost, and I'm not buying it. I'm currently 160 pounds and have only broken one set of 135 spaced wheels. I'll consider super boost if I gain 200 poundsWalter, I can’t follow your logic. My thoughts exactly but the only thing about super boost.... at least right now is only on the rear.
I wouldn't put money on that... at least not any time soon. They have to make the recoup the money they already spent on boost RD. Maybe they already did... IDK... I doubt the big boys will jump until they are financially satisfied.
Wasn't that the SRAM vs Shimano thing? As after Shimano launched 11spd, SRAM jumped to 12spd.
I thought there were talks of Shimano coming out with 13spd? then they only went 12spd on the XTR with a new hub.
The point is that it opens the way for 29+ and 27.5++...did I hear 30.5 ? Sold! For the next 3.5 years that is! Looking forward to 32# !
more gears, tighter tolerances, more maintenanceDon’t know if they’ll do it... but Shimano DOES have a patient pending on 13sp.
Maybe they will launch a new line with the 13spd.... the XTRR... the last R standing for RICHDon’t know if they’ll do it... but Shimano DOES have a patient pending on 13sp.
Have no interest in any of that nonsense. 27.5+ started with 3" tires, then everyone starting going narrower - 2.8, 2.6. Now someone is trying to sell wider? Just get a fatbike. ?
You're 160? Dammit! How am I supposed to lose another 15lbs?!?!?!?Tires sizes 27.5 and 29 are standards, wheel spacings of various increments are not. swapping wheels are not that simple especially if you plan to also change out dropoutsMy game plan is 29 for tourne Lew mo and the like
27+ for hm, WC and mooch north and the like
4" if 27+ doesn't do well in the snow with spikes
I only care about 29tbh with some flexibility
cut off an arm 😛You're 160? Dammit! How am I supposed to lose another 15lbs?!?!?!?

Yes you can slap them on, but your shifting and braking will likely be a tab bit off
Also, 3 sets of super boost wheels will set you back a bit, glad you bike budget has expanded with your promotion, congrats again

actually my hand is swollen where I hit that downhill section with the tree stump in the way
Ripped the glove but didn't think I injured anything, hope its just a bruise
Yeah, I'm not getting my injuries the past 2 yearsI’m beginning to think maybe you need these.
