There's an App that actually shows the effort you put out in each gear. Wattage, HR, Cadence, etc. In theory you could pre-ride a course and then map out your entire race effort. At least that's how Nino does it.

I live in an Indian community and the vibe is pretty muted today because of the rain. It's sort of interesting that Diwali ends on Halloween this year so there will be a Nightmare Before Christmas theme happening between our 2 cultures.
