I wouldn't be against another OOS night out either...is @Kangdoy out of hibernation yet?
That maybe a little too engaging, I would expect the Park to request at least a Firefighter engine attending the event...This sounds nice maybe we get a bigger oos event and grill in the park with families

So, no updates yet? Seems like the head tube on your bike is not the only thing slacking...

Looking for serious advice for once so so please refrain from shit posting
I've been in my position for 10 months and 20 days, at 12 months I am free to take any job that will take me. This morning I was invited to apply to a position. Typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to get through the application process, and you are stuck in your seat for up to 30 days.
The advice I need
My manager has a huge ego and has had 80% turnover since I joined the team(not my fault his track record shows he's hard to work for). I typically have no issues with him but I get special projects that requires NDAs so he punishes me for lack of transparency.
How do I approach him? I don't want to get tied up in policy

This is a tough situation. Do you know the hiring manager in the other position?
Perhaps they have dealt with your manager before?
I think you need to put in the 12 months, but if the new position looks better, ya gotta be a little selfish
and figure out how to make it happen - if the manager is really difficult, you are probably ok calling HR
for advice without it getting back - just be very excited about the possibility of the new position.
I'm sure they have worked through this before.
Let's not be mean to @The Governor of Maxtown in his own thread...
I am assuming the new position is within the same company?
What @Patrick said plus if it's indeed the same company there's always the (not so) slim chance that you may end up having to work with him again...
One thing to consider is that is generally not a good thing to see in your 'resume' that you jumped ship for a better position before the due time, some could just ignore it but some could just think that's your thing and you will do it to them if the occasion presents itself. But again in a huge company they may not care about it.
Pity for not being able to shit posting on this, I had a perfect reply in that manner...
I'm just curious how your manager can punish you for doing exactly what a NDA is for? Unless it's worded specifically that you can share information internally but that doesn't sound like the case.
