Very boring thread

I think if youve been close to the team and they're forwarding the job to you, you can explain to your boss that you weren't actively seeking to jump ship, but we're presented with an opportunity. Is what it is.

I left this out in our conversation, he thinks I have no shot so he was less threatened to lose me. On the assumption that I don't have a shot he spoke too soon and gave me the green light but came by after our conversation to pull it back as the green light wasn't his to give. I already had the emails written up before we met so as soon as I got back to my desk I set up seat rides with my friends and reached out to both the manager and recruiter to make them aware of my intentions.

I expect by Friday or Monday I'll lose my license to some programs required for this job so I'm throwing things together tonight and tossing it on someone else's production server to maintain access. The last person on my team to try to opt for a new job internally, left the company as she was essentially removed from all projects and access was limited to her work. My boss sucks and if you aren't making his life better you aren't worth the seat you sit in and will do w.e. he can justify to keep you in your seat.

alright so I'm so fucking lazy I am unbolting the stem and I'm just going to drop it right on the bike with everything connected(brakes shifter cable ect.)

Meh, seems like the VP likes you and the other team likes you. If this dude has a bad record or retaining talent, he probably doesnt have much pull to hurt your career and chances are you will eventually surpass his seniority. Obviously don't burn any bridges and be smart, but seems like you're playing the game perfectly well. You gave him the heads up before going to the other team. You don't owe him anything more than that courtesy.

Fascinating how they couldn't punch a couple of holes to make it internally routed, probably it would have been even cheaper and more time effective than welding all those tabs on the frame. I guess in the name of serviceability...
Less weight

Holes = less weight vs tabs = more weight
Prolly costs less to get little aluminum tabs and have a robot weld them than to purchase the plastic plugs and engineer the hole. Then to assemble any complete bikes...way easier for them to do external.

Yes
4 years next month
I want to stay 6 more months, I've already got another job lined externally but wanted better experience
I'm not worried about what he thinks I was worried about how he would play politics which he has but already knows I'm almost eligible so we're in a grey area where we both are in control
I had to tell him first once I apply he is notified by the system I thought about playing dirty and purging some of my information so the system wouldn't connect us but trying to play by the rules
So all this shit is just to work in another position for 6 months before you jump ship anyway? Lol. DO IT. If it goes South, you can just ride your bike every day for 6 months until you start your new new job.

That's the hope of I love my team or I'm learning a lot that will change my stay, they brought some python wizard on last month and he is teaching them how to use it and apply it which is a huge value to me.
