Very boring thread

If he's being a dick after. All this, you could find a light way to throw the term "hostile work environment" out there. Chances are if he has high turnover, that'll throw a red flag at him to calm the F down. I should note, only do that if it's really bad and be subtle about it.
Please don't do this. That term only applies to specific categories such as race, religion, sex, disabilities and age. It is legal and even encouraged in some companies to be an absolute prick, and bringing that term up can encourage pricks.
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm a little familiar with this.

Didn't plan it I'm going with historical evidence

I am heartbroken over this I was told that the business will not and do not let people apply out within 18 months which I am evidence of that not being true.

I've had 40 minutes in the car of clarity I'm going to query employment records to see what the average time a promoted employee is in their position prior to promotion. Calculate turn over rates and trends under my manager and director for both transfers external vs the business unit and company.

We all know what I'm gearing up for...

I did get an interview for 2 weeks from now and I might have another inline after talking to a former co worker.
Meh, corporations can be a pain in the ass. I'm nobody to give advice. Was gonna delete my hostile suggestion earlier because its more something id think and never do. Good luck. Keep being awesome, professional and going for stuff and it'll all work out.

Someone is clearly uncomfortable with me posturing to leave the company we met so they could see how much they're willing to work with me... Some ideas/feelers we're tossed my direction but I declined to entertain them as they couldn't tell me if we could make it a reality or keep my original opt out date. They wanted to walk away with me making a request to deliver but I didn't have one prepared.

So I thought before I spoke for once... I said if they wanted me to stay I would like to keep my current pay my current position and only work three days a week 7 to 330.

If I got that I may not even look for a new job and start freelancing

who is "we" in "we met" -

from the outside - you are delivering, you are focused on increasing your skills - both good things for a company, hard to find outside.
you might have gone for the 30% raise, and changed managers, cause "he is forcing you out, because tech work is fun and challenging,"

how long is the commute? WFH opportunity? benefit coverage good (between you and spouse) ?

Many factors to consider, but the current HR environment knows people move, and it is much more expensive to bring a new person on,
than to retain a person. Don't play the "i'm leaving" card - cause that causes problems - just the i'm not happy hint.

thanks for sharing all this. i know it is stressful - be professional, but a little selfish.

I never said to them I'm leaving I packed up my desk yesterday and said see you tomorrow. Was asked about it today and said I don't feel comfortable with how things were handled and how language has changed around my performance as now I feel like they want to fire me, they strongly disagreed and set up this meeting.

They are my boss and HR but my boss left after I requested nothing to stay and his director came in.

My insurance sucks, commute sucks(45 min), wfh whenever I need to, overall I like my job because of the people I partner with. I'm not a fan of any leader in my business unit.

The reason I'm so valuable is because I know the business. My first project was redoing our book of business and how losses and new business is calculated. Insurance isn't simple and someone else could do this and is most likely more talented by a lot. I started in the company taking calls and quickly became a subject matter expert I know the business inside and out. I know what to take into account and when to write something off as a loss and what kind of loss(this isn't easy).

I know I'm a joke here but to have the total I provided refered to on an earnings call by the CEO has been the biggest deal personally in my professional career.

I wouldn't be as valuable leaving my company, but I understand what I have to do to reach the same intimacy data if I were to go so I hope to achieve the same thing.

I share this with you guys because I need help and so far you guys haven't let me down. Thanks everyone

we goof around here, but it a bit of online persona....you've always asked about moving your career forward.
you continue to do so.

Seems like you are in a decent place there, since you are a subject matter expert and have some autonomy.

don't underestimate your skills. you did it there, you can do it somewhere else. you could go into the same business
with similar "words" - or change verticals, and learn something new. More and more HR is looking for people that
do, rather than "have experience in" - We (wife and I discuss) strategies for the new work force. She has years of
people experience and is often working policy issues. It is best to find a person that gets into their job, not just a person
changing jobs because they have experience and want more $$.

45 minutes is not horrible. isn't great. WFH is important, so if you have it when needed - that means a lot.
My bro worked at blood bath and beyond. they treated their tech people like store employees - cause that was the mgmt
style they knew - seriously checked the door swipes. he stayed a bit, then moved on.

so what would i do? again, i don't like the threat of leaving, but seems you did a good job of putting it on them.
if you could get a 25% bump changing companies, and improve the commute, i'd go. otherwise, sitting in and
attempting to drive the bus where you are makes sense.

you are probably going through 100 scenarios in your head. try not to let it mess with ya.
its going to be all-good!
