Summit resident wants a 200'-500' buffer between his property line and any trails in the park. Need to preserve open space in Union Co for future generations. We pay high property taxes and don't want to pay more for this development.

Mountain bikers are bad guys and shouldn't be allowed in the park. They tore up trails back in the 90's and caused lots of erosion. Nobody maintained the trails. I guess my preference, and I would hope the decision makers are of similar mindset, would be to want to make the new trail in the spirit of the old trail. Arguments (which I totally disagree with) have been presented in support of the new trail. Maybe I'm way off base here but wouldn't you...

I'll just have to agree to disagree with you here. Much of what you posted deals with personal preference and I respect your opinion.
