Chimney Rock Conditions

Soooo, if I’m reading this correctly; Cromwell basically is f#ck’d till March. 🤬

The rest of the place “should” be OK except for the days listed. I’ve circled what I believe to be Cromwell on the attached map. Am I missing anything else considered Cromwell?

Correct on all counts. Cromwell closed most days (except Sundays and I think Xmas week) thru mid/late February; it’s the circled section.

Rest of park only closed first 6 or 7 Wednesdays of 2026.

Looks like a go around has been cut on blue.
The second pic and locator was the only thing I saw down on blue, white, frisbee golf, black orange and red. It’s smelled like Christmas which was nice.
All was frozen but started to thaw by the time I finished at 10am.
Y’all be cool.

Took the doggette on a ride/run to clear some trees. Not surprising w/ temps in the 20s all day, the ground was nice and crusty.

Cleared a tree up on green/pink area and the one just off Gilbride lot. Ran out of time and didn't get to the one on orange yet.

I don't like to work wood when it's any colder than today. After an hour and a half of hiking and sawing, my hands are cold and still are right now.

It does keep the gallery down, doe.

Rode the whole park today less Cromwell, conditions nice and crusty. Someone got to the tree on orange so everything seems clear.

Above freezing all day today. Is it pudding do ya think?
There will definitely be many peanut buttery spots. My highly scientific (sarcasm) estimate is that about 30-40% if not more of the trails yesterday were very dark in color, I.e. holding moisture but frozen and will not be frozen today.

Several spots while frozen were clearly badly carved up by riding when it was peanut butter.

Would think today is an avoid, next several days look like they’ll be mostly below freezing so better.
