what do you read?

I didn’t love Dungeon Crawler Carl. I read the first and then started the second but tapped out 50 pages in.

The Will of the Many was pretty good. I think the second book comes out soon.
I'm on book 6 of DCC and I feel like they always start out slow, to the point that I've read probably ten other books while getting through the DCC series, but they always pick up momentum and get me locked in pretty quickly. And I made it a point to read at least the first three books as I have fond memories making mailbox bombs from the original anarchists cookbook as a kid 🤣 and the third book in the series being based on an anarchists cookbook really intrigued me.

I have the will of the many in the Kindle, just haven't started reading it yet. I've heard good things about it.

Just finished "The Signal and the Noise" by Nate Silver. Excellent book on the science of predictions with chapters on baseball, political polling, weather forecasting, poker, etc.

Was at my brother's helping move some furniture out of my recently married nephew's room and found this on the shelf. As a huge fan of the show, grabbed and can't put it down. Basically all the back stories about the history of how the show happened and the stories behind each season.

Oh indeed.

My recent last-minute trip to Florida and its long stints spent in airplanes and waiting in airport terminals finally got me to start reading the 8 volumes of The Expanse books I have on the bookshelf. The trip got me about halfway through Leviathan Awakes. Now to make the time to finish it and start on the rest of the series.

I've found an hour or so of reading before bed helps me get to sleep, so I'll be trying to get back into that habit again.

I’m doing the same thing. Halfway through Babylon’s Ashes.

I finished Pillars of the Earth last night. That is a monster of a book. I tried to read it years ago and could not get into it. After Spain, I tried again and liked it a lot. I have no idea if this would translate to audio, but it's 1000 pages of dense text.

I'll most likely pick up the 2nd one soon.

I just finished The Flight Attendant, The Last Thing He Told Me, If You Tell, The 7.5 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, and am in the middle of Wild Dark Shore. I really liked all of them. I am also curious whether the other Chris Bohjalian books are good @Cole

I read Pillar of the earth a number of years ago and loved it @Norm

So far so good... Going to try a few more.

Just finished Salem‘s Lot, which took me a little while to get through. It was a good book and a good read, but it lacked that can’t put it down quality. That’s actually the first Stephen King book I’ve ever read so I will give more of his stuff to try in the future.

This one has been sitting on the bookshelf at my house for years, probably came from my father-in-law. Maybe I will give it a try soon.

No joke, it's a lot. There is 1 aspect of it that I don't like, which I will not talk about here. But still it was easily a 5-star book for me. I put it on the table next to my bed and I only read at night. I said I would basically just try to read 2 pages a night, and whatever else I got to, was a bonus. In the end I probably read almost 30 pages a night because it was so well-written and engaging.
