    Mary bars

Or, he can drive to your house, drive you to your storage unit, get the bars, and take you out for a nice lunch. I mean, assuming you want to spend that much time together. You guys could live stream it.

James Pearl Thinks Blogging is Dead

I think it’s because I used a pic I previously used on the team forum which isn’t public. So you get 4 instead of 1.

James Pearl Thinks Blogging is Dead

My Amplifier Goes to 11 Been a bit. Been thinking recently if I should sunset this blog and start another one. I know it doesn't really matter. While I like the title of this one, I almost feel like it's time for the, "How an Aging Former Bike Racer Fades into the Sunset with as Few Aches and...

2025 Fun some days at Chimney Rock, led by Steve

I may be out at CR at some point today. But I have been up since 3:30 so who knows what happens between now and then.

    25-26 Ski and Snowboard Thread

We stayed here: https://rockymountainresort.com/ Not in the center of town but like 2 miles out of the downtown. We had a car so it was a non-issue, and like 1/2 the price. The place was not huge and for 4 people it was a hair tight. But it was really reasonably priced compared to a lot of...

    Going Long and Hard.

I am curious what roads you use to get to/from that lookout. I live close to that but from my house to that is like death-car zone so I literally never go there.

Do I even like this anymore?

I will go ahead and say this is a rhetorical question. I don't know the OP, but in reading the post it sure struck me that other stuff is also making you not happy. You, the royal you, the OP, not you zmartene. I am 53 now, and shit just hurts more than it used to. The past year I have...

    Staten Island MTB

I appreciate the effort but 99.7% of the people will immediately tune this out when they see the "short" ride is 45 miles. I would be interested in checking out some of the SI stuff, like Wolfe's Pond (is that right?). But maybe a normal 1.5-2 hour intro ride could be a little more enticing to...

    Leadville

100% it impacts people differently. That’s not to say some people are not impacted at all. It just affects some more than others. My BIL and SIL both from Montreal went to Everest base camp. SIL had no issues. BIL struggled tremendously. Some people can scale Everest without oxygen. Most cannot.

From off.road.cc: Forget gravel bikes, XC MTBs are better, and nearly as fast

Anyone who drives a Porsche is not eating a fucking burrito behind the wheel.

From off.road.cc: Forget gravel bikes, XC MTBs are better, and nearly as fast

To Pearl's point, I don't think the Columbia Trail is really gravel, is it? That said, has any of the big gravel races ever been won by someone on a MTB? Focus study be damned. That's the only real study that matters.

Which tire sealant are you using in 2025?

Stans. No complaints like 10+ years now. No reason to not stick with what works. Also Darts are essential. Maybe the Robin to Batman’s tubeless setup.

    Official name change request

Do you have any idea what happened to him? Did he move to CA? @Scrapple Boy - you've been a good student. LMK what you really want your name to be and I'll change it to your liking. Edit: Also, since I know it was RLB I always said, "Earl B" in my head when I saw your name.

    The Joy of Mountain Biking

FYI I am reading. Cat - read that paragraph and replace the cat with an elderly parent, and it sounds mostly the same Poems - never been a big fan but I appreciate your appreciation. Work - work sucks. I think we established that. R2D2 - I had no idea that a) R2D2 lived in the Grand Canyon and...
