    TrexxxFest?

I did it last year. It was a relatively low key event but it drew a couple hundred peeps in its second year. A couple of the stages have a fair amount of climbing. All are super fun. Show up early asbthe reg line got crazy last year. Growing pains.

    StravAssholes

I think it is sad how much of "The trail simplifier" we see in our parks. We complain of people with lesser experience dumbing down trails. We have just as many Stravassholes widening trails so they can ride faster with less turning or to avoid obstacles that slow them down. Little trees or...

    Take Your Lane Bike Flag

I rode in an event with this guy ten years ago. Way ahead of his time. With a fiberglass pole pointed right at riders' spokes...I stayed very far away. I'm not a big fan of the 3' laws. Just another unenforceable law that most do not understand. Many roads are not wide enough for such rules...

    What's with the wide bars

I often use this example below at clinics to help others ponder their bar width choices. Actually, I use it to get people to keep their elbows out but it could apply to bar width too. Drop and give me pushups until you are fatigued....to failure. During this time, vary your hand position...

    What's with the wide bars

They are reluctant to cut the bars on the demos. Once cut, they can never go back. You can always move the grips and controls in to match your body size and preference. I often hear people wanting to cut their bars to better navigate narrow trails. Bad idea!!! Wider bars allow for more...

The best seatpost I ever had was...

I'm using a KS Lev DX and a Rock Shox Reverb Stealth. I've had a problem with the Reverb which prompted me to try the KS Lev DX. I prefer the KS for a few reasons. I have found that I prefer the non-stealth models. Easier to set up, troubleshoot, or remove in a pinch.

KS Lev dropper. Once you guys get a dropper and utilize it...a regular post will never do.

The Best Stem I Ever Had Was...

With only a few exceptions, those who don't think a Thompson stem matters are the same folks who bring their bike to the shop cause, " My bike is creaking". Take pride in working on you own bike with parts that make it fun to work on your own bike. Respect good craftsmanship.

Send all your thoughts & prayers to Schilling

Chris, "The Mountain Bike Gypsy" is always a great companion on the trails. I mentioned this bad news to my son, Ryan. He had met Chris on one of the Allaire Beginner Rides. Ryan then told a story of how Chris came back to find him when he had gotten separated from the group. Not a big deal but...

Halter's Beginner Cross Clinic this Sunday, Sept 27th

Hippo Cross is Saturday. "The race named after beer." The next day will be the Halter's Beginner Cross Clinic. The clinic named after a bike shop? I doubt that slogan is going to excite too many people. Nonetheless, I will be be there providing instruction along with excessive hand gestures in...
