25-26 Ski and Snowboard Thread

Heading to St Moritz and Zermatt in a couple of weeks. They’ve been hammered with snow so hoping for the best. However, I have seen a few posts suggesting to purchase insurance just in case one gets into an accident and has to be airlifted/rescued. It’s apparently only CHF 6 a day on top of your ticket. For those that have been (@UtahJoe ?) is this something you’d recommend? If so, how does one purchase that if we already have Ikon passes?

So I didn't know anything about insurance... 6chf a day seems reasonable.... I will say from my observation unlike American ski resorts they do not take people down in sleds.... the helicopters are flying all day all over the place

This happened as we were skiing down... Landed right next to us.. The guy they picked up just hurt his hand or arm.. I saw him standing with the ski patrol having a casual conversation.. like certainly no emergency... he wasn't going to die or going to shock..., but this is how they take you off the mountain from what I gathered. Point being Maybe insurance isn't such a bad idea because if you can't ski down they are not taking you down in a sled from what I saw

Yep that’s what we’re thinking too. I know it can be bought when you buy a ticket. But two of us have ikon passes already so I’m not sure if we can simply buy the insurance separately. I’ll look into it there.

So much for that drought in the west

Like I said, all Utah needed was for me to show up.... So from worst winter ever to 5 feet in a week
