Tamper - YES! Awesome!

Tomorrow we will have a backhoe and a ditch witch.

The goal is to complete all 4 outside berms.

Rain or shine...

Today went awesome! Bob W. brought the Ditch Witch and really did a great job shaping the berms. We also had a member of the Alexandria DPW (Glenn) working the backhoe.

We completed the first berm, created an awesome starting mound, and finished 5 rollers. The goal is to complete 2-3 more berms tomorrow.

I'll have pictures uploaded by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Bob

We got a good bit done today. The outside loop is totally pump-able. I managed two full loops without a pedal stroke.

Lots more to do here but super potential for a mega fun time.

Thanks for having me and my rake.

Hi Jason,

Thanks again for coming today. It was awesome having you there and you were a huge help. Hopefully you can make the next build session in May.

I was wondering if you might have Brett's shovel. He said its a short handled square shovel. He also said it might have dark red clay on it as well.

Please advise,

Bob

BTW...I tried to send a PM, but it says your mailbox is full.

I am a notorious shovel thief. I will look for it in the AM.

Super glad to help. I just wish I was a hair closer. I will be back for sure.

What did it take to get permission to build the pump track? Pump tracks are great to ride for all ages and levels. I have access to a private one on a friends property. I think it would be such a great idea for a park like Allaire to offer this. I helped construct our pump track, so I no the amount of planning, labor and sweat it takes. My hat is off to you guys and girls. Keep up the good work.

It took 8 months of hard work and negotiations with the town of Alexandria by Bob and Jenny Adase. More here: http://www.alexandriapumptrack.com

We hope that once this is done and is a massive success, future projects will go much smoother. Being centrally located, it might be easy to use this as a reference site and we can point to the project as a success story and even send other land managers down to see how fun and safe it is.

I had this first weekend on my calendar for the last month. Last minute change of plans. I'll be there in May, Bob! Fantastic job everyone!

It took time and persistence. But without the support of JORBA, none if this would have happened. Bob W. and Mergs were there every step of the way. A big thanks to the both of them! Bob W. attended several key town meetings with me that really helped "seal the deal." My good bud Doug L. was a key player in the design, as well as Lars T. I also want to thank Bike King (Ron) for helping us purchase the Kiosk and my wife Jenny for putting up with "PT" talk for the last 8 months 🙂. Pat B, BB, and Greg B also came out before the build dates to help construct the Kiosk..It came out great!

In addition, thanks to all the awesome volunteers that came out this weekend. You guys rock!

Thanks to Jorba and volunteers for getting this going. Hopefully all these efforts will spread the good vibe around the state. By the way, this is a GREAT picture ....
