Allaire Conditions

Was out today and have to say quite a few of corners are still icy... so be aware I did not do TW but with the way the corners are in it I would say they would be the same as well...but there was no soft spots to speak of except the fire roads that were in the sun...

Was out on TW today and it had its fair share of icy corners as well. I guess tomorrow's rain and the warmer week will take care of the ice but leave the trails unrideable for a while.

Made it out to Allaire today. Conditions pretty good. A little muddy down by the river otherwise things were dry on Orange, White and Tiger. Should be even better tomorrow.

Approximately an inch or so fell tonight, looking sunny and near forty tomorrow, grab yer ride early before it turns to a swamp.

Can any one locals give an update after the storm? did you guys get snow or rain? will trails be go or no go for Sunday? we got about 7" by Allumuchy
Thanks

Just pulled into lot expecting to see a bunch of fatties. No one there. Looks to be about 2 inches of slush that will freeze overnight. Not sure of rideability by tomorrow. Maybe bring ice skates.

we received snow, sleet, and then light rain. it's 36 outside now. i'm going to bet that it's a sloppy mess right now and most likely will be tomorrow.

good call Chris I am thinking just about all the southern parks will be the same way...

No doubt about it, complete slop fest
I came out there this afternoon looking like I just ran some Marines boot camp obstacle coarse or something
The good news is I took my new fat fatbike and the big knobs on Surly Nate tires hook up on anything
I didn't even have to air them down at all
Hard as a rock and still plenty of grip! Even in the muddiest of sections!
It was great! I spent all day!

i got this one....

Sheeple - we really try to stay off the trails when they go to muddy mush. Couple things happen, the wheel ruts end up freezing into a bumpy mess, which makes frozen conditions difficult to navigate and enjoy (we love a 25F day with sunshine and light wind - frozen solid and fast!)

with the dirt pushed out of place, the spring repairs become onerous.
no doubt puddles will form where there were none before...

it is also getting into every moving part of your fatbike....not good.

Couple of the parks drain really well, and allaire is one of them - but not when it has a mud slime over the top of frozen dirt.....

A large group hit wharton today since conditions were primo down there.
throw up a 'where are people riding today?' post, if there is any doubts.

all part of the learning process - see you out there! watch for Fatbike lane maintenance opportunities, good way to give back, and meet people from the forum...

I was thinking of going there this morning, but I think its going to be a icy, rooty, mess, more frustrating then anything...I actually got a really really good ride out of my house, went through Thompson Park, then a rail that takes you all the way to Holmdel park. 2 hours in all..just might do that again, or go to Hartshorn and hike...calling out of work tonight,,,no way in hell im driving to Bedminster at 10pm..

2 FEET of snow is a coming,,,so no Fatbike lane riding till March now..

Bob, aren't we due for another Fatbike lane blazing snow ride at Allaire? See you in a few days?

YES!!
I did go to Huber this morning, was ok, but 1 hour was all I could take. I don't know Mark, we still getting a foot or so, might be a while before we can ride....

Don't worry, I put tracks down this afternoon before the sun went down. Got to love getting out of work early.

Although they will be gone tomorrow.

from what i can gather around 8". i'm not going out today so we'll have to wait for johnny utah's report.
