No doubt about it, complete slop fest
I came out there this afternoon looking like I just ran some Marines boot camp obstacle coarse or something
The good news is I took my new fat fatbike and the big knobs on Surly Nate tires hook up on anything
I didn't even have to air them down at all
Hard as a rock and still plenty of grip! Even in the muddiest of sections!
It was great! I spent all day!
i got this one....
Sheeple - we really try to stay off the trails when they go to muddy mush. Couple things happen, the wheel ruts end up freezing into a bumpy mess, which makes frozen conditions difficult to navigate and enjoy (we love a 25F day with sunshine and light wind - frozen solid and fast!)
with the dirt pushed out of place, the spring repairs become onerous.
no doubt puddles will form where there were none before...
it is also getting into every moving part of your fatbike....not good.
Couple of the parks drain really well, and allaire is one of them - but not when it has a mud slime over the top of frozen dirt.....
A large group hit wharton today since conditions were primo down there.
throw up a 'where are people riding today?' post, if there is any doubts.
all part of the learning process - see you out there! watch for Fatbike lane maintenance opportunities, good way to give back, and meet people from the forum...
