Any peeps from jersey city area?

the only parks i've been to are washington valley in bridgewater and stillwell in LI and for sure i'd get lost for i'm not familiar with the trail.

if anybody is willing to be sort of a guide, let's get the ball rolling. suggestions?

@dnap, I am glad there are people around the area who also into MTB.

It was you!! Please stay out of Hoboken... we have enough water main problems without your help okay 😉

If hoboken was installed around the same time JC was, I can accidentally leave out 3 lines of code that will cause water to run all over the street 🙂

Please don't.... for a while we were having main breaks with way too much frequency. A while back one was so bad it affected almost the whole town. And brown water is nasty I don't care how much you boil it!! Old pipes is all I know.... it's possible they are around the same age.

I've done Wawayanda, and it was fun until I got lost in some swamp.😡 The water in some spots came up to my ankles. I thought it would get better after a few minutes it only got worse. I was walking through that stuff for about 15 mins. The mosquitos were eating me alive. Once out of the swamp the ride was fun again. If we do Wawayanda we need a guide. I've never been to Kittatinny, and I wouldn't mind going there. So when are we going to do this ride?

I live in JC. If i'm not driving to CR, 6MR or LM i'm doing loops around LSP or down to the Bayonne Bridge. (that's a lot of acronyms). I used to do the local riding on my XC bike with my loud ass tires humming on the pavers in the park but recently picked up a road bike for that sort of stuff. 23mm and 140 psi makes a world of difference.

Anyway, I'd be interested in doing a group ride at Wawayanda or Ringwood since I've never been to either. To be safe, I'd say I'm a beginner at rocks. Chimney Rock has probably been the most I've dealt with.

unfortunately i can only get out on the weekends. my car is down for the count at the moment so no trail riding for me at the moment. grrr.

Hey, if you ever want to do a road ride in the area let me know. I'm planning to start doing early morning rides more frequently. I need the time on the bike and I want to be out with less people on the road.

how is jungle habitat?

Jungle Habitat is like riding on turtle shells. Technical rock sections on almost every trail, but not a whole lot of big climbing. It's a mountain biking nightmare if you aren't comfortable with rocks.

If you like rocks you'll love it.

If you like the idea of riding through an abandoned safari with dilapidated monkey cages and such you'll love it 😉
