Best beer locator app?

What's the best app to find beers in stores? Is there a check-in type app that says "I found this beer at this store on Tuesday"? That's what I'm looking for.

Beer menus is the best finder, provided the shops/bars update their lists.
There is a log function for users, but I haven't explored that.

I would say word of mouth if you are looking for a hard to find beer. Any website you post a rare beer find on will bring everyone there before you. Befriend Matty, Jmaniac and Jeremey...tell them what your looking for , if it's available they'll know where to get it

BeerMenus.com has this function now but I have not paid much attention to the check-in part. I think it will say something like so and so checked into this beer 3hrs ago. If I really want to know its there I call them up.

This is a good idea but none of these dudes live within driving distance of me, so I'd assume they're not going to know much about the stores within driving distance to me.

I would do the same, just looking for some data to narrow down my pool of stores to call. Will check out that site thanks.

As @jShort has said before most enjoyment in finding a good beer is browsing the store. If your supplier has lame selections then find one who does. Ride mooch then swing into wine country on 517. Hell even shop rite has some great selections too. My beer dude sets aside the specialties when he only gets limited supply, that's what good customers service is all about.

Agree with beer menus. Most good places update frequently and the site clearly shows when it was last updated

Yes, it's like folks say- support your LBS (local beer shops).
Get to know the beer dude there, and he'll tell you when there's good stuff hiding in the back,
and what goods he's got coming next.

And I agree, when you find a good LBS, browsing is half the fun.

And Untappd should be mentioned here too- it's a facebook for beer drinking.
You can check in at locations, beer you are drinking, rate the beer, follow friends, and keep track of what you've had.

So technically could also be used to find what someone had/where,
but depends on people posting, probably not super reliable.

I kinda dropped this from rotation a while back.

You lying sack of shit.
Which brings us to the updating- they last updated their list 1/7,
so there you go- sorry.

I also call to verify if there is something specific I'm looking for and it's out of the way.
