Biggest crash in stock market history?

I blame the rich people. They control the Media, Laws and Politics, which divide the people. This is done so masses fight against each other over elections and mask mandates and Super Rich get to keep all of their $$$$.
Everything is all about polarizing and dividing people over an issue or fear (black lives, climate change, masks, etc.) and keeping them divided, that's how those with power keep it. And its all about power, wealth comes as a result of power. They create issues so that they can swoop in and be the saviors, keep our focus away from them. Careful though, this is all just black-chopper wingnut conspiracy talk.

Not sure how to read that chart (but not really). It appears to be increase percentages, which could be very misleading in terms of absolute value (if you increase $2 by 100% still have $4, if you increase $2000 by 10% you have $2200 and so on), plus several names are repeated (I guess different stocks). Also, assuming the colors are vy party affiliation?

To me that is one of many ways people maybe misled by 'facts'.

A few years back the Italian government established more stringent enforcement of its immigration policies, officially in order to prevent refugees from drowning while crossing the Mediterranean sea from Libya. The number of rickety boats that tried to cross plummeted and so did the number of deaths, but the ones in favor of illegal immigration pushed the fact (or narrative) that the percentage of deaths over the number of attempted crossing had skyrocketed blaming the Italian government for it...basically 1000 deaths over 100.000 crossing (1%) to them where better than 10 over 200 (5%).

Close enough?

What is the gas line size cut-off to make it into that map? I'm pretty sure Italian gas distribution network is a little more capillary than that.

So what's your point? That under a certain $ threshold it's okay to insider trade using the knowledge they gain while members of congress? Yes, colors indicate Party affiliation. Here's a radical idea, no members of congress should be allowed to actively trade using their insider knowledge while a member of congress. That is the law after all.

There's no reason to shield them from criticism even if they made $2 in illegal ways. Here's a site that lists all their trades they're required to disclose: https://housestockwatcher.com/.

What insider knowledge? Who didn't know the Russians were invading Ukraine??

Fine, how about a little pre-pandemic insider trading?

This is how much the stocks dropped after the senators sold.

I'm sure there are plenty of examples of that. I have no problem with all congressional members being banned from trading stocks. Pelousi was always against it but now she's changing her mind. I guess she made enough already

My point, and I have no idea of the volume involved in those charts, is that if someone added $2.000 to their $50.000 portfolio during this period cannot be considered on the same level as someone that added $2.000.000 to they hefty $30.000.000 portfolio. Yes, in line of principle not cool, but under a certain threshold there could be justifications, when it's massive there's very little left to the imagination. Again, without basic numbers that chart means really nothing. There are other factors that should be kept under consideration, such as previous investment liquidation, special events etc. again, if under a certain amount. Just to make an example, the $30.000.000 recently made by the Speaker of the House...but it doesn't show on the chart, correct?

I agree 100% with you and I would just say that it would be sufficient that they were subject to the same inside trading laws we are all subject to.

The fact that you keep posting variances in percentages...well, I think I explain my view on that.

What insider knowledge? Who didn't know the Russians were invading Ukraine??
Apparently most alleged 'Intelligence'...but yeah, there's that.

Didn't they use to suspend trading in occasion such this once upon a time? Not sure, maybe just another brain fart.

We can only make assumptions and use the percentages because that's all we have at our disposal.

I think it would be more appropriate not make any assumption on partial data.

Just a clarification, my comments are not specifically aimed at you, but more in general to the fact that a lot of media and then politicians of both sides (you tell me who's wagging who because I can't really tell) keep facts and numbers that are in the best of cases partial or focused on specific cases just to sell their agenda.

Specifically to your earlier comment on politicians trading stocks, I would actually double down and say that being a politician should be considered an aggravating circumstance if you commit inside trading (or if you break any law for what I am concerned). To draw a parallel, and having been shortly in law enforcement and belonging to a family of police officers, I've always believed that IF a police officer breaks the law the punishment should be somehow harder. My late father , in the force for 30 years, strongly agreed with me. But again, we also agreed on never getting freebees from 'civilians' while on the force, neither of us being 'crazy' liberals either.

no idea if this is real or not....ill assume that it is given the number of people that have been evacuating

REALLY makes me want to bitch and complain about spending an extra $10 on gas. 🙄

These are the middle ranges of the values. They're making millions off insider information.

Is that enough data for you to be a bit more than a raised eyebrow over insider trading? Or are we still bitching about mask mandates?
Are you one of those rare cases of a person that can write but cannot read?
