Book of Paul H

I guess I got up too early today because it was pitch dark.

Because of work and a bad knee, I slacked off and didn't do my usual 2x a week jogs in the morning.
Wow, my cardio suffered as I was huffing and puffing more than usual. But the climbs were a bit easier. I thought that was weird and it turns out, I lost 8 lbs in the last 2 weeks. 😱

Came across a young buck about 25-30 feet away. He was gracious enough to let me take a pic of him.

Can anyone come out tomorrow to show us the unmarked trails and enjoy a little Sunday ride? Any time after 11 AM is good. Thanks.

Were you able to find someone to ride with?
Just saw this. I can do early sat or sun at HM. With the leaves falling I kinda got lost a bit but if you are willing to bare with me, we can put together a ride this coming weekened. It also looks like your schedule is tough so instead of posting here, PM me.

Again not a mtb ride but a road ride.
Finally was able to ride from my home in Wayne to NYC via GW bridge. It was the longest ride I did up to date at 58miles.
This time, left around 7AM when there was sun and I took my time and was especially careful at Saddle River Park.

I guess there is some sort of naval marine museum in Hackensack.... saw this along the way.

Google maps went wacko on me. Before I knew it, I was in Cliffside Park.... wtf! I guess it was my mistake as I put down my work address in midtown as destination. Tracked up to Fort Lee where I saw tons of roadies and I knew I was at the right place. Crossing the bridge was pretty cool. Just rode thru and then all of a sudden, I missed photo opts! Once I got off the bridge, took a little a break and ate my cheeseburger I packed. Took some photos while I was at it to prove I made it!

Never knew I had such a long face and my helmet was crooked... wasn't intentional to look cool.

On my way back, took some photo opts. Pretty bad ones but eh... I'll leave the cool photos to @soundz and @liong71er

When I got to my final climb to get home, I was on granny gears and huffing and puffing away. Then a roadie flew by me and I was trying to make an excuse for myself, I was telling myself.... "I just rode to NYC and on my way back!" But then again, by the looks of the calf muscles on that roadie, he probably just did a century.

Anyways, this was something I've wanted to do for while and just to think, just about this time last year, I was barely able to do 6 miles.
Just a little pat on the back for myself.

Thanks for the offer. We didn't ride High Mountain on Sunday. We went down to Tourne. This weekend's weather looks like it might be bad. If Sunday is good we might be able to come out if it isn't too wet. I'll PM you tomorrow.

Lol I guess I should have checked the weather before I said that.

Sure..

did you mean, you'll ride your bike and met me at fort lee??
Yep... ride to Fort Lee and have lunch. Perhaps do some more riding afterwards.
But it looks like rain this weekend so we will need find another weekend to do this.
Perhaps @soundz can join us as well.

On Sundays, if we can start at 7 or 8am, I can join you guys for a ride into the city. But I have to be at church at 9, so it will just be one way for me. For lunch to work for me, it'd have to be after 2pm. Sorry!

Sure you can... it's very easy. Here's the tricks. Instead of focusing or thinking numbers.you just focus on the Destination. Let's say...we go to coney island or flushing or anywhere you're likely to go.
So..your goal is to reach your destination
Don't matter how long it is going to take.
But..think about getting there.but..of course within radius 100 miles or one day duration.
And don't think about getting back just yet.i do this all the time.
I will ride my MTB and you can ride your skinny wheell.
