Are you a clyde and don't race because of the skinny jerks pass you up every damn hill ? Would you race more if the category was their? I personally like to eat drink and also ride my bike without guilt!

Rejoice Big man and be heard

I Am the posterboy of Clydes Bfat...

And I HATE these guys:
Hill Monkey: A small, light rider who delights in crushing others on climbs.** These are the nemesis of all of the Clydesdale classes.* They are to be avoided, and preferably run over.* Never go on a ride proposed by a Hill Monkey (at least with them). * See also Mountain Gorilla.

I believe Utah is a mountain gorilla.

200? Shit thats nothing, I though it was 225 or something. I can race it if its 200.

Nice link, The smaller guys just have to make sure they don't crash on the down hill side of any hills because us Clydes can always run over them claiming we had to much mass & momentum to stop or avoid them. 😀

Brian

Ps. I am kidding since I would never deliberately run someone over. 🙂

This one made me laugh:

Whippet: A thin, light cyclist. Usually, these are people of small stature who wish they were Clydesdales but are genetically incapable of becoming one. They attract less women, make less money, and are in general not taken very seriously outside of the cycling world. In an effort to discredit their larger societal competitors, they invented the sport of cycling. In addition to small Napoleonics, there are tall, thin whippets. While not as disadvantaged in mating or money, they are not to be trusted. Would you trust the Schleck brothers with your sister? I don’t think so.

I like to consider myself a Mountain Gorilla. I even have red polka dot socks to prove it.

one advantage to be being a Clydesdale - the extra weight really does pull you down the hill faster. I noticed this at SingleSpeedaPooloza which had a few gravel road downhills - I tucked on those hills and was leaving the skinny dudes in the dust 🙂

I am a Clydesdale, I am fat old and slow.
I ride slow, stop often and walk up hills when ever needed and am proud of it!😉

Pachyderm: A rider weighing over 230 pounds.

Superclydesdale: A rider weighing over 220 pounds.

My new goal is to move from Pachyderm to Superclydesdale. It just sounds better.

I've been a proud member of the Clyde class for 3 race seasons now.

Two seasons ago I was referred to as a bumble bee because of team colors and "something shaped like that, shouldn't be able to go that fast." Fast being a relative term.

Last season's team colors resulted in me being described as a blueberry.

shit yo... I'm gonna hit up 25 burgers and drink IPA's for the next 45 days to put on 13 lbs so there will be an excuse as to why I'm so GD slow...

you're still everyone's favorite hill monkey you fast skinny summumabish 😀

Ride more, eat less? Or stop at 3rds?

I'm with Utah. I could get to 200 in 2 weeks. Then we'll kill it!

do they weigh in people before the clydes races? ive seen some dudes that aren't pushing
200, let alone 180.

JP, i don't know if you're a hill monkey or not.

I do know, however, that norm is a mountain gorilla in remission.

I was a superclyde in January when I hit an all time high of 225... Currently I sit at 205 and feel great... I will never be super thin or a climbing machine but at 195-200 I will be able to hold my own... Five or ten more pounds loss and thats where I want to stay...
