Chimney Rock Conditions

walked some of Cromwell this afternoon for light TM to remove many branches after the heavy winds. Anything white has thick ice underneath so rides at Cromwell this weekend (Feb 22 & 23) will be mighty dangerous IMO. Stay safe out there!

Drove by a few lots but didn’t walk in. Saw three people going out. The fella I spoke to had studded tires and was doing white. From what I saw from the lots it looked like ice and some packed snow but the ground looked frozen, all though I can’t really confirm that.

Not quite ready yet. I rode black/orange/yellow/green - 80% is fine, but that 20% is tough. Surprised to still see patches of ice. Some standing water and mud here and there in normal spots where the sun don’t shine.
A few trees down:
The first one is on yellow (granola, lower part off the 4 way split) and the second was on the ballpark loop, right before the new stuff (which was in decent condition, the sun helped dry that up nicely).

I didn’t bother with red, white and blue - if this side wasn’t good, I can’t see that side being any different.

Hopefully this weeks weather helps out! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thinking maybe, possibly today? Next window of opportunity for me is Thursday, so I may hold off depending on opinions

The trails on the same ridge 14 miles east were surprisingly dry today as well. Even a couple of the normally problem sections were good. The warm, windy weather and the thirsty spring vegetation did the job.

The turtles were out as well.

Any know what it’s looking like? Hoping for dawn patrol Saturday
I went yesterday from the gravel lot. Usual wet spots on the Bullpen loop and Black. Orange and Yellow weren't bad at all, nor was Red, but I didn't take the Newman's side down. Blue going up was good, stopped at the top and turned around from there. White was surprisingly good save for the usual mush pit by the crooked tree (armoring is looking great btw).

Overall good, but I was admittedly surprised by the amount of run-off still coming down.

Sorry, a bit late, this was from friday afternoon. Tree branches were blocking the bottom of the bowl on white. Be careful, location (red mark) is a bit of blindspot.
I tried to clear it by hand, but more branches may fall/slide down the side slope again.
