Is there any snow left to fat bike on? Or did it all melt?

Yes, the trails are again rideable. They vary tremendously, with some areas covered in soft, wet snow with a somewhat icy base, to wet trails with no snow cover whatsoever, but fairly muddy. Lower blue could be characterized as Class II rapids in some spots...😉

Great conditions for a fat bike ride. Rode blue, red, white, orange and the ballfield loop (black?) - I followed the tracks throughout most of it, it wasn’t slushy yet. Some standing water/puddles but very, very little thick mud. Some perfectly dry areas where the sun has been working its magic. I’m sure the warm weather is going to make it a mess soon, but glad I was able to get one more in while the temps were still cooperating!

I was there yesterday evening on Yellow. It was still really soft especially at the top where the trails converge toward the new road construction, I think that’s maybe green.
But most of it, due to the rockiness was dry. Where it was wet, it was pretty bad. As long as I just slow rolled through the mud, it didn’t fling up too much onto my bike or clothing.
I didn’t regret going but I’d give it a few more days to dry out more. Yellow in my experience drains a bit better so the other trails are probably wetter.
Last, I had to take a gratuitous shot of a first gen Miata parked on Gilbride. It was left top down and in great condition. Glad to see one still in nice shape. Must be hard to haul a bike with though. 😀

I’d have to agree with the above post. I walked a little of blue and red. It was more firm than I expected but still relatively soft in my opinion. Lots of people hiking and you can see foot prints. Some people riding and tracks. Everything I walked was damp and the usual problem spots are wallows. If the rain holds off I’ll bet this place gets ridden a ton this weekend. I’d say by then it would probably be 80% good to go. Just my opinion.

How was the section above the basketball courts? The section that’s like machine groomed with the berms and table tops? I recall from fall that some of those sections get peanut buttery when wet.

natlady10 I guess this is irrelevant now after the heavy rain overnight, but the "Taj Mahal Basketball" segment (what this segment is called on Strava) was very ridable (firm, not soft).

I think we are now back to the freeze/thaw cycle at Cromwell and CR. Sunday low is 32 deg so I would expect sift/wet/mud conditions throughout. There are a few select trails that are better than others though. I recommend going to LewMo or Nassau on Sunday since they drain much better. Allaire of course being the best for drainage.
Got it. I’ll divert to Hartsthorne then. That place drains pretty well.
Rode Cromwell on Saturday from the ballfields. 95% was good. Probably about a dozen muddy spots,-you can get around about half of them. Some areas were soft. Overall good for CR this time of year.
Cool. I rode earlier today but I'll be near Chimney this afternoon after I drop my kiddo off for an activity. I might pay a visit if I have the energy. With all the improvements to Cromwell recently, I definitely want to check it out!
Ugh, I went and turned around. I don’t like getting me or my bike too dirty. I did upper blue and trudged through some thick, yucky mud. Detoured to the creek crossing on white to wash my tires off and then back to my car. Needs a few more days (based on my personal preferences).
