cross practice

What world championship course?

Gotta give Chucky props for speaking his mind, The Rutgers CX course is a bit lame and they charge a fee to practice there and will cancel in wet weather. Cross racing is all about wet, muddy and snowy conditions. And double barriers, I think, should be placed in a slower section say coming in/out of a corner and not on a long straight like Rutgers. Just my opinion

RC ... :hmmm:

I am refering to the MTN bike race held in early August, Chuck had refered to it as the world championship becaause it is a very local race that we Monmouth county people have doing for the past, for me 15 years now, I think I only missed it 3 times in that period.

And there you have it...anything to add to this Chucky??See you soon on the cross bike bro..

Bob is correct... Tatum park race has been going on in Monmouth county for many years... So us Monmouth county residents treat it like our world championship... It's all we have🙁 RC I will be out at as many CX races I can do... First up Mac weekend Pa and Md in two weeks... Till then peace

Ah! That's what thought Bob, yes that place is a secret gem in Monmouth Cty. I've done the race twice so far, that place would make for an awesome Cyclocross race! I bet with the right promotor, bike shop and advertisement it could be a stop on the MAC Series.

The Dreamer ... 🙂

Do we know if this practice started? I am considering checking it out next week.

It started four weeks ago. It will go on until december

I just spoke with Larry (Christ Puncher) who reports that this cross practice is indeed good practice.

If all goes well I may attend next week.

Yes.......

I plan to be in attendance next week as well.

Larry report back!!!

Start at 6....

The course is all grass, there will be three, three lap races.

Including 2 barriers, 5 hair pins, one run-up, and one 15 ft section through soft deep gravel.

Ten people showed up yesterday. Forrest and myself included. The skill sets are from Cat C to Elite masters.

I think it's a great workout for an hour or so.....I'll be there as often as I can.

Oh and it's free. We all chipped in to take down the tape and barriers, and were finished in 15 minutes.

Get your asses out here maaan............:getsome:

Every week will be a new different course so we don't kill the grass

I had a blast. Such a good time and such a fun layout. I could do w/o the 180 degree turns but since I suck at them I guess it is for the best. I tried Fred's tubular wheels and crashed 3-4 times. For this course my Tubeless Hutchinson tires worked much better.

The course was lacking a bit of flow but the intensity certainly was there. Good times!

I too was not happy with how the Grifos handled. Tall damp grass and tight corners where not ideal for these tires. 😕

Dan the Man (&company?). Thanks for your time for providing this weekly event! I only got to ride the 2 races, nothing more, nothing less, and I had blast as well. Pretty good show of people that can ride. My seat kept on slipping on my remount every time no matter how monkey tight I made it BUT that was the funnest 45 min of cycling.

To be honest, the setup was better then any other cross practice I've been to. There wasn't any long stretches but everyone can ride a field anywhere, anytime on their own. The point is, I'm glad you can incorporate so much into very little space and test some real cross skills out.

they cut the grass today on the course so next week should not be as slippery. Also next week we will park in the same lot but we will use the other course on the other side of the stream. You can see it from the lot.

What time do you get there to setup?? I might be able to get there and help out.
