Hi Everyone -

I was provided the below trail map from the High Bridge Rec committee. It shows which trails permit Mountain Bikes, and which do not. Please respect these closures.

Feel free to PM me here with any questions.

Map updated as of 3/13 - Note that the lower parking lot on Nassau road will be permanently closed in the near future. That is on the DPW’s list so if there is a barrier there, please don’t try to go around it.

I assume Springside Field is private property that they allow people to use?

Interesting question. I did race prep on that field when the town ran their funky triathlon. Bike/paddle/run.
It isn't farmed. They had a perimeter path too.

I'm pretty sure it's part of one of the green acres deeded parcels. Just one that doesn't restrict mountain biking.

thanks for posting. I have not been back there in a while but disappointed to see a large section of the loop we did from one of the best MTB rides I did ever (led by @Norm and a few others) on that hot summer day in July is off limits.

Are the specific trails that no longer allow MTB clearly marked, or is it easy for someone who doesnt ride there that often to make an honest mistake?

I know this isnt the trail conditions thread but I'd assume the trails are pretty muddy right now anyway.

So is that open to trail building? I don’t know how GA property works.
I’m really not sure. I’d assume the town wants to limit traffic to MTBers coming down or going up the hill to link the two trails.

I was provided with an updated Map yesterday. The DPW will be closing that lower lot on Nassau road. Not a big deal since there are 2 other lots, so if you see a barrier, do not try to park there anyway.

Also, just to reiterate those trails (10, 11, and 12) are closed to Mountain Bikes. Still open for Hiking.

Enforcing this closure has become a hot topic with the town so please please please, stay off. There will be more to come on this, but for now, please just use the Springside Field trail to connect to Matt’s Trail.

That stinks. I always liked parking in the middle.

@Jeremy Has there been any talk about cleaning up "Matt's Trail"? Last year it was almost impossible to find from the road due to all the overgrowth. If it was opened up it could make linking the two sides feel more natural, especially from the Springside Field.

Yes. I brought this up and the town seemed fine with it. There’s just some pending paperwork that needs to be taken care of before we can do any real work back there.

I usually park at P1, strange to close a lot as it doesn't help hikers who won't have access to #10
